Agave Florida Investments is an affiliate of the multinational Jose Cuervo Group of Mexico City. The Group has overseen the development of 1 million square feet of offices and 2 million square feet of industrial property in Mexico, including long-term tenants Microsoft, Johnson & Johnson and Sony Corporation, among others. Veteran Miami developer Eduardo "Eddie" Avila of Alhambra Investors, LLC has joined forces with Agave Florida Investments, Inc., to create the $140-million, Class A office development at 396 Alhambra Circle. Avila, along with his partner Jack Kaplan, will serve as principals of 396 Alhambra, LLC. Avila has been involved in South Florida real estate for more than 30 years. As vice president of Cheezem Development Inc. in the 1980s, Avila played a key role in the redevelopments of Brickell Avenue, Brickell Key and South Beach. Kaplan is a third generation developer and has been partners with Avila since 1995. Together, they have successfully developed many residential and office developments throughout Florida.
