CATIA V6 LEVERAGES THE CAPACITY OF INNOVATION FOR COMPANIES OF ALL SIZES IN ALL INDUSTRIES BY DELIVERING BREAKTHROUGH PRODUCTIVITY DESIGN SOLUTIONS POWERED BY A HIGHLY COLLABORATIVE PLATFORM.

CATIA V6 enables the full spectrum of next generation collaborative virtual design, including shape design, mechanical and equipment engineering, as well as systems engineering integrating requirement, functional, logical and physical product definitions. CATIA V6R2010's new enhancements include CATIA Live Shape direct modeler, where users create concepts directly using intuitive 3D manipulation with contextual icons. It also integrates Dymola and its component libraries, enabling system architects to easily model and simulate dynamic behavior in a multi-disciplinary system. CATIA V6R2010 provides a tailored environment for electrical designers to define easily their 2D logical architectures. In addition, this release brings high end, real-time rendering capabilities for all CATIA V6 users, and introduces a new jigs and tooling design product with collaborative welding capabilities.

V6R2010 ENHANCEMENTS QUICK VIEW CATIA V6R2010 leverage life user experience o Offers high-end, real-time visualization at the core of CATIA products that results in a better understanding of the final product before it actually exists. o Introduces CATIA Live Shape, the free modeler of V6. Seamlessly integrated with Feature based modeling applications, it enables people outside of the design office to easily compose new design and modify existing one very quickly. o The most used CATIA workbenches in the CATIA mechanical and shape domains now take advantage of its productive user interface. Designers can now manipulate feature parameters directly on the geometry instead of editing through panel and typing operations. CATIA V6R2010 enables the engineering system architects to easily model ­ using library components and an accessible and specific language - and simulate the dynamic behavior of multi-disciplines systems. DOMAINS & V6R2010 ENHANCEMENTS CATIA SYSTEMS Across industries, products are getting increasingly complex, involving many more engineering disciplines, with the value shifting from the products themselves to the actual services demanding customers expect from these products. SYSTEMS ENGINEERING A collaborative system engineering methodology is critical to address these transformations. CATIA Systems uniquely captures, manages, and tracks product requirements with full traceability, ensuring that these early requirements are met accurately all along the product development cycle, from functional architecture and logical breakdown to physical design and testing. BEHAVIOR MODELING & SIMULATION With CATIA Systems, the components from multiple disciplines (such as mechanics, thermodynamics, and electricity including electronics) as well as the numerous interactions between them are modeled on a unique common platform to enable dynamic simulation of the complete system via a virtual prototype. The behavior of the product in operation is assessed while various design alternatives can be tested very early on.

CATIA V6R2010 integrates Dymola to simulate the behavior of multi-disciplines systems Dymola has been integrated in the logical editor to design and validate systems with dynamical behaviors. In combination of Control & Logic Modeling solution for State Control Modeling, Dynamic Behavior Modeling groups together all different specialists on a unique platform. It allows them to design and experiment any kind of systems, from scratch or with import & export mechanisms to Modelica libraries. As it relies both on Modelica language and on Dymola kernel, going from Dymola to Dynamic Behavior Modeling solution is very simple. CATIA SHAPE CATIA Shape provides industrial designers, Class A modelers, and mechanical engineers with a full suite of surfacing, reverse engineering, and visualization solutions to create, modify, and validate any type of complex innovative shapes and help streamline the transition and collaboration between Design, Class A and Engineering departments. From subdivision, styling, and Class A surfaces to mechanical functional surfaces, CATIA Shape covers all the surface creation and modification needs. It also supports the

complete reverse engineering process from the import of digitized data to the recovering and finalization/completion of high quality surfaces. INDUSTRIAL DESIGN Combining a unique and intuitive virtual clay modeling approach with free-form surfaces, CATIA Shape is at the service of industrial designers and their creativity. Starting 3D ideation from scratch or from 2D sketches, industrial designers can manipulate shapes with unrivaled freedom, but also take full advantage of a true creativity accelerator to quickly explore and test many more ideas in the early conceptual phase. CATIA Shape also provides real-time visualization for instant evaluation and photorealistic Mental Ray rendering, allowing designers to make better and faster decisions MECHANICAL SURFACES CATIA Shape provides advanced technologies for mechanical surfacing, based on a powerful specification-driven modeling approach. This solution brings high-end quality surface modeling for detailed designers and promotes efficient concurrent engineering between styling and engineering worlds in order to optimize the product design workflow. COMPOSITES Spanning from preliminary to engineering detailed design and manufacturing preparation, CATIA Shape provides unique capabilities for designers of composites structures to work in dedicated design in-context environments to integrate structural, assembly, and manufacturing requirements early in the composites design process and thereby anticipate and avoid problems.

Key V6R2010 ENHANCEMENTS FOR CATIA SHAPE:

Integration of Photo Studio Pro in CATIA Rendering All the rendering tools are merged in one single workbench "Realistic Rendering" in CATIA V6. On top of existing functionalities, CATIA Rendering now offers new light commands and properties to create smooth shadows and to get "physically correct" images, drastically increasing their realism. Ergonomic & User interface improvements for Mechanical Surface Design In CATIA V6, Mechanical surface design workbench takes benefit of CATIA Live Shape experience, by providing the user a quick and natural way to modify dimensions. The user has now the ability to modify dynamically "Live" the values of features' parameters. Ruler's graduations feedback during manipulation gives an easy way to control the value modification. CATIA STL Rapid Prototyping as a standalone product CATIA V6 introduces CATIA STL Rapid Prototyping as a standalone product in the portfolio. The product which was previously only inside the CATIA Reverse Engineering product is now available still in CATIA Reverse Engineering but also as a standalone product. Imagine & Shape enhancements The Alignment command now extends the possible supports of projection and provides a way to project some points of the base mesh onto any kind of geometry (curve, surface ...), offering the user more freedom in the concept design phase. A new Instance command offers the user the ability to create one or more instances of any existing subdivision feature, increasing his productivity when designing products with repetitive pieces.

Reverse engineering improvements Editable mesh segmentation allows the user to define easily mesh segmentation for the Surface Reconstruction process. The segmentation object is obtained either automatically or manually. It is also editable and persistent. New Geometric Tolerancing Checker (GTC) command allows the user to check easily, quickly and automatically if a digitized object (as manufactured) respects the GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance) of a numerical mock-up (as designed).) CATIA BIW modeling new specific command CATIA BIW Modeling allows the creation of 2D View Sections. 2D-view sections are used as a means to visualize geometry details along multiple section planes, to display sections information on a plane independent from the sectioned geometry or the sectioning plane for usability purposes and as a mean to enrich the raw section information with additional sketch editing, corner and thickness operations. It allows to easily reviewing 3D BIW models in dedicated 2D sections. CATIA MECHANICAL Finding ways to reduce design-to-manufacturing cycles and improving productivity are key priorities. CATIA Mechanical delivers a highly collaborative and flexible design environment with full concurrent engineering and high performance change management through relational design to enable the efficient definition and engineering of any type of 3D parts and assemblies, from the simplest to the most advanced. In V6, CATIA expands 3D design to user communities outside of the design office, addressing each profile with the right modeler capabilities: direct 3D modeling, geometrical surfaces handling, feature-based design and history-free functional modeling. CONCEPTUAL DESIGN Breakthrough direct 3D modeling technology opens the doors of creation and 3D experience to new contributors who can quickly and easily sketch any idea in 3D. These new design ideas can then be reused as preliminary shapes by designers further down the process. DETAILED DESIGN Highly integrated tools automate the detailed design process and provide a smart management of complex assemblies, from part positioning through mechanical assembly constraints definition to drawing generation and assembly consistency checks thanks to mechanisms simulation. MANUFACTURING PREPARATION Advanced process-driven functionalities, such as the automatic definition of complex drafts and fillets to optimize foundry and forge tooling design of forged and complex cast parts, ensure that manufacturing intent is captured in the early stages of design to avoid manual, lengthy operations, as well as improve manufacturability and productivity.

Automatic Filleting available in Part Design and Functional Modeling for increased productivity The rounding and filleting of the sharp edges of a solid can be processed in one shot, increasing productivity drastically. Automated dress-up features, as well as

validation through dynamic sectioning, make the product ready to be then manufactured. Moreover, parting elements for rounded edges can now be taken into account on the whole part. Adoption of Lifelike user experience in traditional workbenches 3D robot supports an easy and direct modification of feature's dimensions. Part Design workbench benefits from the positioned sketch creation command, giving a better understanding of the sketch location inside the part. The west compass in Assembly Design workbench uses color codes to ensure an easy mechanism analysis while the east compass provides user with the update status according to all the levels of sub-assemblies. CATIA Live Shape goes a step further to capture design intent Free modeling benefits from persistent dimensional and geometrical constraints. Keeping the creation of the geometry very natural, it supports the capture of the user design intent. Deformation of surfaces is made easy thanks to an influence sphere. A mini map window allows user to locate, reframe, pan and rotate the part in a very flexible manner. Welding design for Industrial Equipment, Automotive or Aerospace The Weld Design workbench enables user to create welds and part preparation directly in 3D, in a structured and flexible process. Advanced welding processes are fitted to Machinery & tooling industry: automatic generation of weld seams annotations and symbols, welding reports which allow a very quick estimation of welding costs. Tooling Design for the generic Tooling and the Press & Die domains Dedicated to generic & user defined components management, this workbench provides tool and die makers with a rich toolset to support the end to end process. Catalogs of industrial standard components are delivered to automate the tooling definition. Assembly Design completes its connections set Gear, Rack, Cable, Roll, Slide curve & curvilinear distance connections allow the definition of respective positions and movements of two parts. The assemble assembly feature takes place as a substitute representation for the assembly. It is used in Assembly & welding workbenches to protect the Intellectual Property while modeling the welding process parts. Dedicated user profiles to control the access of catalogue/ design tables/ knowledge rules Defining external resources in environments for each kind of users, the administrator guarantees the correct use of catalogue/ design tables/ knowledge rules. This set up data management supports a good quality of the products without action from the user. Drawing update gains in flexibility to fit customer process The update status of drawings is accessible from the database. It can be queried, recomputed. A batch may create the list of out-of-date drawings in order to update them. Customers may use and interpret these information, for instance to decide when drawings must be updated according to their process. Live FTA Review with 3D XML player ensures a rapid share of design specifications The 3D product definition including dimensioning, tolerancing and annotations is rapidly shared within and throughout the enterprise. This greater insight accelerates decision making. Moreover, the 3D XML player makes the 3D

CATIA EQUIPMENTS CATIA Equipments provides an integrated environment that enables the collaborative detailed design of electronic, electrical, and fluidic systems in context of a virtual product. While design is driven by the system logical definition to ensure conformity with product specifications, full traceability, and configuration management, knowledge rules are integrated to enable the automatic compliance to standards throughout the design process, all the way to the production of associative documentation for manufacturing. Such an integrated environment improves design quality, drastically reduces time needed for modifications, and minimizes errors. ELECTRICAL CATIA Equipment delivers a dedicated electro-mechanical end-to-end solution for designing and documenting electrical modules in all industries that design electric, electronic and electro-mechanic components. PIPING & TUBING CATIA Equipment also provides general layout tools for intelligent placement of parts as well as a full set of routing and parts placement methods.

Key V6R2010 ENHANCEMENTS FOR CATIA EQUIPMENTS:

CATIA Systems Logical 3D architecture User experience improvements CATIA Systems Logical 3D architecture brings a 3D Network analysis tool directly integrated in the PLM East compass. This is an easy way to follow the progress of the 3D network design and the way it is connected to the 2D system. For a pathway it enables to know if it is connected to other items in the 3D and if a signal is routed inside. For equipment centers, it enables to know if it is connected to a pathway in the 3D and if system equipments are allocated inside. Based on the legend colors, the user will get an easy, quick and complete visual feedback of his 3D networks. CATIA Systems Logical 3D architecture enables lifelike modifications of Pathway routing with the V6 robot. This provides a significant improvement of the usability and user experience of the pathway creation and modification, and a more intuitive default display of the pathway points. Wire Harness Life like 3D shape based on material properties CATIA V6 adds the flexibility attribute to the bundle segment, to display the right shape based on the calculated geometry. It is possible to take into account materials applied to calculate the shape of bundle segments, improving the lifelike experience value for the user. Business rules adoption for Harness design, harness documentation, Logical 3D architecture Business Rules Integration in CATIA V6 allows the users to add specific behaviors to electrical commands by implementing knowledge business rules. Each customer may have its own proprietary design rules to apply for the wire harness design; in this context CATIA V6 is providing the business rules feature to open the CATIA applicative behavior to easy customization. With the Business rule mechanism it is possible to use V6 knowledgebase language to specify the

way a given command (open to business rule customization) should behave in its own design environment. Configurable flatten harness to enhance wire harness manufacturing documentation process The user can define configurations in the harness design phase to configure components, and now this information is extracted and synchronized in the flattening data. In place of having multiple flattening, user now has only the main flattening data, containing all the different options. It allows the user to reuse a flattened harness without redoing all the layout management, saving him time of preparation, thus generating more quickly the plan for manufacturing. ID Schema Management for Piping Parts CATIA V6 provides the ability for the user to customize object naming based on company identification standards. Select and place parts using compatibility rules CATIA V6 provides the ability to select Piping/Tubing parts from a catalog using defined search criteria and compatibility rules. This improves quality, efficiency, and productivity by automating the design process using design criteria that is derived from the design context and predefined compatibility standards. Rule Driven part placement CATIA V6 provides the ability to place parts automatically between two connected parts. The Part selection and placement of the new parts to be placed are done via user defined rules. This will allow the user to automate and standardize detail configurations after the design matures Adjust Piping Network CATIA V6 provides the ability to adjust a piping network, to propagate required layout changes easily and effectively. It will also allow "What If' scenarios for desired product configuration.
