CLASSES

Beginning Quilting, Step 1 Jeff Carr, Instructor Excitement for the first time quilter. Learn the basics of piecing and quilting. A small class project will be made over 4 weeks of classes. Use your own sewing machine and learn how to use quilting tools. Fabric selection and quilt designs will be introduced. Four, three-hour classes. Book Required. Wed Evening Jan 4, 11, 18, 25 6-9pm All four classes cost: $75.00 MYSTERY CLASS!!!!! Ray Steeves, Host A CHALLENGING AND EXCITING CLASS WHERE QUILTERS ARE MYSTERIOUSLY GUIDED INTO COMPLETING A UNIQUE MASTERPIECE. Simple steps with instructions along the way allow the quilter to create a one of a kind masterpiece. Each clue is to be completed before the next session. Actual class session is instruction/clues only. Fabric requirements will be given at registration. Six thirty minute sessions over 12 weeks. Thursday Jan 12, 26, Feb 9, 23, Mar 8, 22 10am or 6pm Cost: $30.00 Feathered Goose, Paper Pieced Gail Schutte, Instructor Great Judy Niemeyer Pattern, The Feathered Goose, foundation piecing at its best. This wonderful pattern will have you foundation piecing like the pros, and you will create a masterpiece. Especially designed for Batiks, Judy Niemeyer quilts are famous for their beauty and color selections, Jeff and Gail are hear to help you make the color/fabric choices that will make your quilt a beauty to behold. Don't let foundation paper piecing scare you off, because with Gail's help you can master the precise technique for perfect matching seems and precise corners and points. A traditional French Braid quilt done the easy way. Great with pre-cut 2 ½" strips. Fun, easy technique that will have you piecing a French Braid like a pro. Pattern and instructions provided. Fabric choice will make this a striking quilt. Problem with colors? Let Pat or Jeff help you with your selection. One, five-hour class. Saturday Jan 28 9:30-2:30 Cost: $40.00

Learn many helpful techniques for piecing, quilting, design and fabric selection. We will make a small lap quilt during these four weeks. Four three-hour classes. Book Required. Machine Applique Jeff Carr, Instructor Don't be afraid of appliqué! Jeff's patience and knowledge will guide you thru the sometimes intimidating world of appliqué. Simple instruction and fun project will give you confidence to tackle more challenging and exciting machine appliqué projects. One, six- hour class. Friday Feb 10 9:30-3:30 Cost $45.00

What Can I Make With This Fabric? Ray Steeves, Instructor Do you have a special fabric, panel, bali pop, layer cake, charm pack or ? that you just love, but don't know what to do with? With Ray's guidance we can find a project that will put it to good use. Methods of design and inspiration discussed. Design wall utilization. Resources for ideas and techniques discussed. Limited to six students. Bring your fabric in question, and open mind, pad & pencil. One, four-hour class. Sunday Feb 12 Noon-4pm Cost: $35.00 X-Blocks Rulers? Easy! Ray Steeves, Instructor Explore the world of X-Blocks! Varied patterns and projects possible with this versatile ruler. Learn to use the x-block tool with your rotary cutter to make blocks and borders with virtually no waste. The basics for x-block constructed blocks, borders and quilts will be taught. Ruler required. One, five-hour class. Friday Feb 17 9:30-2:30 Cost: $40.00 It's A Wrap Gail Shutte, Instructor Wrapped Clothesline Art. From the Book It's A Wrap, learn this great technique for making bowls, bags, purses, vases, etc. A simple method of fabric wrapped clothesline goes together easier than one would think. Use scraps from you stash, jelly rolls, bali pops. Or coordinated fabrics of your choice for unique and fun items. Book required. One, four-hour class. Saturday Feb 4 9:30-1:30 Cost: $40.00 Nite and Noon Pat Grago, Instructor This wonderful version of the traditional log cabin will leave you wanting to make this quilt in several color ways. The process if much different, but the result is impressive. Pat has created a fun and practical quilt pattern that will make this an easy and fun quilt to piece. Learn this great technique for making bowls, teapots, vases, etc. A simple method of fabric wrapped clothesline goes together easier than one would think. Use scraps from you stash, jelly rolls, bali pops, or other coordinated fabrics. Book required. One, four-hour class. Using the Little Twister ruler (required for class), this table runner can easily be completed during class. A fun and easy technique that will get you hooked on pinwheels! No more templates for pinwheels, only straight seems to line up. Only have to sew squares. . . how easy is that! One five-hour class. Friday Jan 27 9:30-2:30 Cost: $30.00 Buggy Barn Baskets Pat Grago, Instructor Buggy Barn quilts are always fun and interesting, and this baskets pattern is no exception. Book, Stir Crazy required. Wonderful stack, cut, shuffle method always results in beautiful and interesting quilts. Fat Quarter friendly! Great for stash. Learn the Buggy Barn technique. There are hundreds of variations and patterns that continue to delight you and your friends. Saturday Morning March 23 9:30-2:30 $40.00 Let's Strip It Quilt, Striped Surprise Ray Steeves, Instructor Ray's first quilt pattern. Learn this fun and easy technique and complete your quilt top during class. Bali Pop and Jelly Roll friendly, this strip quilt goes together very easily and looks much more difficult that it actually is. Works well with only nine coordinated fabrics, or as many as forty two coordinating fabrics. One, six hour class. Pattern included with class. Saturday Evening March 23 6:00-11:00
