This Mini DV camera is a high-definition video recorder with very simple operation and sound control, it has an elegant design and its small size makes it easy to carry around with you wherever you go. It can be an essential item for business, education, security, tourism and for leisure purposes. Operation Guide Charging The camera has a built in lithium rechargeable battery, when using for the first time please ensure you fully charge the battery. The camera can be charged by either a USB adapter or via the mains adapter (you will need to use the USB cable with the mains adapter to charger via the mains) When you charge the camera the red light will show and when the charging has finished a blue light will be shown. When the battery charge is very low the camera will turn itself off, you will then need to charge again. Video mode Press the power button, the blue indicator light should now come on which means the camera is starting up and ready to use. Press record/stop button and the blue light should come on again, the red indicator light will flash slowly to show you are recording. The resolution for the video file is 720x480 and 29-30 fps (frames per second) Press the record/stop button to stop recording, this will save your video automatically. After saving the video the red light will stay on, and if you would like to continue recording press the record/stop button once again. Notes Please make sure when you turn on the camera that you have your micro SD card inserted or the camera will power off after 30 seconds. The maximum capacity Micro SD card that you can use is 16GB. When saving files please be careful not to press any buttons or your data can be lost. When making a video try to keep focused on the object and make sure you have sufficient illumination. Sound control (optional) Press the power button, the blue indicator light should now come on which means the camera is starting up and ready to use. Press the mode button and then you can switch into sound control, the blue light will stay on permanently. The red light will flash quickly to show sound recording. When the camera hears anything over 60 decibels it will automatically record, the shortest recording time is 2 minutes, after 2 minutes if there is no sound the camera will stop recording and go into standby mode. Setting the time On the driver disc is a file named Time synchronization, Please copy this to your micro SD card then connect the camera to the PC via the USB cable. You will need to create a file called TAG.TXT in the root directory of the micro SD card, open the file and write the details below: [date] space with new line 2010/09/22 space with new line 12: 00: 00 Turn on the camera, Your PC will check and analyse TAG.TXT then set the cameras time according to the file time. After that the text will be deleted by the PC automatically. Power Off If the camera is on or in standby mode you will need to turn it off by pressing the power button for 3 seconds and the release when the light goes out, the camera is now off. Auto power off may happen if there is not enough battery power left or there is not enough space left on the Micro SD card, in both cases files will be saved. Connecting to PC You can connect to a PC in any mode that is required. The camera should show up on your PC as a removable USB storage device similar to that of a card reader or USB key drive. If you do not see the camera on your screen within 30 seconds disconnect from the USB port and try again. It is better to play the videos through your usual way of playing them, as they may not play so well back through the camera itself depending on the size of the file playing. Webcam You must install the drivers for the camera to be used as a webcam before you connect it to your pc. The driver name required is SPCA1528_V222_M...Setup.exe which is located on the driver disc. After you have installed this driver there should be an icon on your desktop which says AMCAP. Make sure the camera is NOT turned on and connect it to the PC using the USB cable provided; again the camera should be recognised as a removable USB storage device similar to that of a card reader or USB key drive. Press the mode button and switch it to the webcam, then double click the AMCAP icon on your desktop to use the webcam. Reset the camera If for any reason the camera fails or does not perform the way you think it should, you can reset it. To reset you will need to use something very small like a pin or paper clip and press the reset button.

Further notes / Warnings Operating temperature 0° to 35° C (best used at room temperature) Relative humidity: 5% to 95% non-condensing (This camera is NOT waterproof.) Do not aim the camera at the sun or other strong light sources. Do not use the camera where it is dusty or you will damage the lens and other parts of the camera. Only use a clean dry cloth to clean the camera. Please make sure you back up your files regularly to save you from losing them. Please make sure that you have charged the camera before use if you have not used it for some time. This camera should not be used for any illegal purposes (you are fully responsible for the content you record and save to your camera)
