ACS, Inc. Growing to Meet the Need.

Affiliated Clinical Services, Inc. is a private outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment clinic. In addition to our outpatient services ACS Inc. offers a specialized program for people with severe addiction problems that is called ACS Inc. Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). This is a group program and meets four times every week for three hours. In addition to twelve hours of treatment, individual and family appointments are Article Submitted by: provided. Often participants in the IOP are also under the Wendy Chapman supervision of a psychiatrist who has special training in addiction problems and a special license to provide Suboxon, a medication used in the treatment of opiate addiction. The IOP counselors also provide case management and are in communications with other professionals in the community to help the participants succeed in their goals to live a substance free life. Our IOP has expanded over the past year and we now offer a morning and evening program for adults. For persons who have completed the IOP or do not need this level of intensity we also offer primary treatment groups, codependency groups, and we are just beginning a group for people diagnosed with both mental health and substance abuse (dual diagnosis) problems. Carol Reichardt LCSW will be providing the leadership for the dual diagnosis group. As our Intensive Outpatient Program grows it continues to be our goal to provide services of exceptional quality. We recently expanded our therapy staff to meet the needs of our clients in the alcohol/drug abuse treatment programs. We would like to introduce Mical (pronounced Michael) Schaffer, a therapist experienced in the treatment of adolescents and adults who are struggling with substance abuse/dependency issues. He is also licensed to provide mental health services. As a result he is trained to understand a broad range of problems and possesses the skills to treat the whole person. Mical has joined ACS to provide group, individual and family services to both the adults and adolescents in our IOP programs. Mical earned his Master of Social Work degree at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. He attended Wisconsin Lutheran College where he obtained his Bachelor Degree in Psychology. He has his SAC-IT a certification to treat substance abuse problems.
