bringing you THE

On behalf of the AFL Commission, I would like to extend an invitation for you to become an AFL Member for the 2009 Toyota AFL Premiership Season. The 2008 season was yet another record-breaking year. More people than ever before attended the Toyota AFL Premiership Season and helped mark 150 years of Australian Football. Importantly, football continued to grow beyond the elite level with a significant increase in participation of the game at all levels from NAB AFL Auskick through to community and state football as well as our programs in Indigenous, multicultural and isolated communities. AFL Members were central to this success and their long-term support and contribution has enabled the League to invest in the future growth of our game as we continue to expand our code on a national level. While our code is strong, importantly it remains even. Since 1997, 13 clubs have

contested a Grand Final, while all 16 teams have gained a preliminary final berth in that period. The 2009 Toyota AFL Premiership Season promises to be a memorable one on the field and we look forward to capitalising on the achievements and opportunities created during our 150-year celebrations off the field. AFL Membership provides outstanding access and value for all fans of the game, whether you want to attend every game you can, or any game you want. AFL Membership gives you the best view of the TOTAL GAME. I wish you and your team well in 2009 and look forward to your support. Yours sincerely,

Carlton ruckman Matthew Kreuzer was one of many pluses in an encouraging season for the Blues. Here, he walks into battle with his teammates against St Kilda at the MCG, in round 15, 2008.

As an AFL Silver member, can I access tickets to the 2009 Toyota AFL grand Final? AFL Silver Members do not have Grand Final entitlements included in their package. However, if AFL Full Members do not utilise the entire allocation of AFL Membership Grand Final tickets, Silver Members will be offered the opportunity to purchase tickets in the AFL Reserve. If tickets are made available to Silver Members, a priority period is offered to those members with a Club Support package for either of the competing teams. If a Silver Member has a Club Support package for either one of the competing teams, they may be able to access a ticket through their club's ticket allocation in the public section of the ground. Members will need to clarify eligibility and the ticket selling process directly with their club of support. How can I become an AFL Full member? When joining as an AFL Silver Member, your membership number is automatically placed on the Full Membership waiting list. The average wait time for a Silver Member to receive a Full Membership invitation is approximately eight years. can I attend matches at venues other than the mcg and Telstra Dome? AFL Members do not have access to Skilled Stadium and non-Victorian venues as part of the standard Silver Membership package due to individual clubs, not the AFL, coordinating their respective venues. Club Support packages for Geelong or a non-Victorian team have entry entitlements to their respective club's home matches because the Club Support fee contributes to gate entry costs. Entry is subject to capacity and some venues may require AFL Members to purchase a club reserved seat package or a match specific reserved seat to guarantee entry. Does an `AFL Family membership' exist? The AFL does not have a specific family membership, but does have a family discount offer available. To be eligible for an AFL Membership family discount, there must be two full-fee paying adults (with no concessions) and one full-fee paying junior immediate family member residing at the same address. Any additional junior immediate family members will receive their membership fee complimentary upon payment of the joining fee. Proof of residency for each of the adults is required (i.e. a copy of utilities bill or a drivers licence) when lodging an application for a family discount. When applying for this discount, please staple together all application forms and clearly label `Family Discount' on each page. can I give my AFL membership card to friends and family to use? AFL Membership is a nontransferable product, meaning that only the person whose name is on the card is entitled to use the benefits. Signature checks are randomly conducted throughout the season and if your membership card is found to be used by another person, the membership will automatically be cancelled and all monies paid forfeited. can I take friends and family who are not AFL members into the AFL Reserve at the mcg and Telstra Dome? As an AFL Member, you are entitled to purchase up to four guest passes for matches at the MCG (excluding ANZAC Day and finals where guest passes are not available) and up to two guest passes for matches at Telstra Dome (excluding matches involving Essendon or Collingwood where guest passes are not available). can I still support my own team as an AFL member? By nominating your club of support you will be counted as an official member of your club and directly contribute $131 from an Adult or Concession membership fee to that particular club. As an AFL Silver member, can I purchase finals upgrade or priority packages directly through my club of support? AFL Silver Members are classified as a member of their nominated club. Therefore, if the club has a finals upgrade or priority package available, you will be entitled to purchase one. To find out more about club finals upgrade or priority packages, please contact your club of support's membership department.
