HOW TO APPLY: Applicants desiring to apply should submit the following: · NGB Form 34-1 dated Oct 02 - NGB Form 34-1 must be signed and dated. A detailed chronological statement of civilian and military experience with special emphasis on areas of experience and education related to the position may also be attached to the NGB Form 34-1. Current Records Review (RIP) DD Form 214s (Certificate of Release Or Discharge from Active Duty) (if applicable) Medical Forms: Last complete Physical AND current AF Form 422 (Physical Profile Serial Report). The SF 507 (Addendum to Medical History may also be attached. An AF Form 1042 (within 12 months) must also be submitted if the announcement requires applicant be on Flight status. PERSONAL INTERVIEW: Applicants who desire a personal interview must submit a letter requesting an interview and attach it to their application. Payment for travel is not authorized.

A. APPLICANTS SHOULD ADDRESS THE FOLLOWING KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION: 1. Leads, manages, supervises, and performs force protection duties, including use of deadly force to protect personnel and resources. 2. Operates in various field environments, performs individual, and team patrol movements, both mounted and dismounted, tactical drills, battle procedures, convoys, military operations other than war, antiterrorism duties, and other special duties. 3. Provides armed response and controls entry. Detects and reports presence of unauthorized personnel and activities. 4. Develops plans, policies, procedures, and detailed instructions to implement SF programs. 5. Provides guidance on employment and utilization of military working dog teams. Ensures proficiency training and certification standards are maintained. 6. Leads, manages, supervises, and implements ground weapons training programs. Operates SF armories. 7. Provides guidance on weapons placement to security forces and ground defense force commanders. B. 3P0X1 AFSC QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Knowledge. Knowledge is mandatory of Weaponry, laws, directives, programs, policies, and procedures governing SF activities; installation security; weapon system and resource security; anti-terrorism; law enforcement and investigations; military working dog function; air base defense; armament and equipment; training; pass and registration; information security; and combat arms. 2. Education. For entry into this specialty, completion of high school with courses in government, behavioral science, computer, and communicative skills is desirable. 3. Training. For award of AFSC 3P031, completion of the security forces (SF) apprentice course is mandatory. C. SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTORS: 1. Must be eligible for membership in the Texas Air National Guard in the pay grades, Promotable SSGT/E6 NTE TSGT/E6. 2. Must meet physical qualifications outlined in Supplement 2, AFI 48-123, Medical Examinations & Standards within 36 months prior to start of the AGR tour. 3. ANG applicants must have sufficient retainability to complete 20 years of full-time National Guard duty, and/or active duty, prior to his/her mandatory separation date. However, ANGI 36-101, Para 2.1.3.7 allows the tour eligibility requirement to complete 20 years of Active Federal Service for military retirement to be waived. 4. Must not be eligible for, or receiving a Federal retirement annuity. 5. Must possess/be eligible for the appropriate security clearance required by the AFSC of the full-time position. 6. Selection to this position requires compatible military assignment to: 3P071. NoTrainees. 7. Additional qualification requirements are outlined in ANGI 36-101, and other applicable regulations and laws governing the Active Guard/Reserve Program.
