BEGINNING KNITTING Learn basics of knitting and complete a hat in this 3week class. Materials: 150 yards worsted weight yarn, 16" circular sz. 8 and sz 8 dp needles. Three week class: $50 Sundays: 11:00 am ­ 1 pm, May 2, 16 & 23. Tuesdays: 6:15 ­ 8:15 pm, May 25 ­ June 8 Wednesdays: 6:15 ­ 8:15 pm, June 30 July 14 CABLES AND BOBBLES Demystify cables and bobbles and become an expert at creating stitch patterns and reading charts. This class will cover cables, bobbles and end with a pillow. Bring the following materials to the first class. Materials: Smooth wool yarn, appropriate needles and a copy of Harmony Guide to Cables and Arans. ThreeWeek Class: $50 Sundays: 11:00 am ­ 1 pm, April 11 25 CORRECTING MISTAKES Have you ever knit when you should have purled? dropped a stitch? forgot a yarn over? or encountered one of the myriad of problems knitters face? Learn how to correct/compensate for many of these in this twohour workshop. Materials: Several knit squares with stitches on needles, or stitch holders, needles to knit with and crochet hook and tapestry needle. TwoHour Workshop: $30 Tuesday : 6:15 ­ 8:15 pm, April 27 INTARSIA Knit a child's sweater with the motif of your choice for the little dinosaur, ice cream, or truck lover in your life. Choose a pattern from Roo Designs and learn this fun two or morecolor knitting technique. Basic knitting skills required for this class. Sweater may be knit without motif if desired to learn basic sweater techniques. Materials: Roo pattern of your choice, yarn, needles and other materials needed to complete project. Threeweek class: $50 Tuesdays: 6:15 ­ 8:15 pm, May 4 18 CROCHETED FLOWERS Crochet flowers for embellishments on your finished items, or for use on their own. This is a great way to use leftovers from your stash! Crochet basics a must! Materials: Medium weight yarn in at least 3 colors and sz G or H crochet hook. Twohour workshop: $30 Wednesday: 6:15 ­ 8:15 pm, May 5 LACEY SUMMER CARDIGAN Intermediate knitters will enjoy this cardigan, knit from the top down, with a feather and fan pattern from Knit1, Crochet 2. Materials: Bella Cardigan, #1644 Knit One, Crochet Too, yarn of your choice and required needles. FourWeek Class: $65 Wednesdays: 6:15 ­ 8:15 pm, May 12, 26, June 9 & 23

ENTRELAC AND LACE SHAWL Two techniques, entrelac and lace knitting, make this shawl challenging and fun to knit. Knit in lace weight or fingering yarn, this will be perfect for summer evenings. Experience in either lace knitting or entrelac is a plus. Materials: "Dianna" shawl pattern available as a download from ravelry.com, 500 yds laceweight or fingering weight yarn and sz. 6 (4mm) needles. ThreeWeek Class: $50 Wednesdays: 6:15 ­ 8:15 pm, May 19, June 2 & 16 LACE SHAWL Many techniques will be covered, including provisional cast on and reading charts, while knitting this triangular lace shawl from Schaefer Yarn (Audrey Triple Wrap Shawl #402). This class is for advanced beginner to intermediate knitters. Materials: 700 yds fingering wt. yarn, sz 6, 32" circular needle, tapestry needle, stitch marker, crochet hook sz D or smaller and one yard of smooth scrap yarn in contrasting color. (pattern will be provided) ThreeWeek Class: $50 Sundays: 11:00 am ­ 1 pm, June 6 20 LOG CABIN BLANKET This is yet another way of knitting with multiple colors of yarn and a great way to use up that stash. Knit squares and sew them together(this will be part of the class) or knit one larger blanket for a baby or a throw. MasonDixon Knitting is a great resource as is www.ravelry.com for general log cabin knitting patterns. Materials: Smooth yarn of your choice in several colors and appropriate needles. TwoWeek Class: $40 Tuesdays: 6:15 ­ 8:15 pm, June 15 & 22 SOCKS ON 4 NEEDLES Basic socks for those new to sock knitting. Experience knitting in the round or with 4 needles required. Materials: Yankee Knitter #29, 450 yds of DK or sport weight yarn and size 4 double pointed needles. ThreeWeek Class: $50 Tuesdays: 6:15 ­ 8:15 pm, June 29, July 13 & 20. BABY SURPRISE JACKET This is an intriguing classic pattern from Elizabeth Zimmerman. Size of this sweater is determined by the weight of yarn used and is perfect for using odds and ends of yarn or selfstriping yarns to make unique striped patterns. Knit in garter stitch in one piece with minimal finishing. Materials: Baby Surprise pattern, 500600 yds yarn and appropriate sz needles, coilless safety pins or removable stitch markers. ThreeWeek Class: $50 Wednesdays: 6:15 ­ 8:15 pm, July 21 ­ August 4 JUST ENOUGH RUFFLES A quick knitting scarf shaped with short rows and a flirty ruffled edge. Knit it in a light weight yarn for warmer weather or a cozy wool for cooler days. Materials: "Just Enough Ruffles" (download from ravley.com), 380 yds aran weight yarn and a sz 9 circular needle at least 32" long. ThreeWeek Class: $50 Wednesdays: 6:15 ­ 8:15 pm, August 11 25
