By GABRIEL CASTILLO

SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Liancarlo Couture Gowns recently showcased its most stunning bridal and debutante designs at a Joe Brand trunk show. The store has been representing the distinctive line since its inception providing customers with the most elegant made-to-order gowns for special occasions in the United States. Liancarlo's creations vary from the simple elegance to opulent glamour, depending on the taste and style of today's young woman. One constant is the Miami-based designer's attention to detail, evident in the hand-embroidered accents of every gown such as the silk organza a-line dress embroidered with French Lyon soutache lace, named for its origin of Lyon, France. French Alencon lace is finished with an exquisitely pleated silk organza hemline. Whimsical accents are also a trademark of Liancarlo, who is most fond of the 18th Century arts and crafts period evident in the tiny rosettes or

delicate silk satin bows that compliment each design to give each bride or debutante that added touch of femininity and flair. Any debutante would be the belle of the ball in the intricately patterned Italian satin strapless gown with origami folded bodice and gathered skirt accented with a hand-beaded satin ribbon belt in a soft blush color or the crystal embroidered French tulle strapless ballgown with a shirred bodice and hand-beaded jewel trim. Liancarlo representative Alan Belitsky said the designer can also design a unique veil to compliment a particular gown upon request. Another distinction of the Liancarlo creations is the subtle layers of beading in pearls, caviar beads, bangles, sequins and crystals which create a three dimensional affect on bodices, waistlines, necklines and satin ribbon accents.
