SPECIALTO THE TIMES

Agents patrolling an access road near the 36-mile marker of Interstate 35 spotted a suspicious man walking along the road. The agents conducted an immigration inspection and determined that the 39-year-old man was a Mexican citizen who had illegally entered the United States. The agents noticed distinctive tattoos on the man's body that indicated his affiliation with a gang known as the Mexican

Mafia. During questioning, the man stated that he was a member of the gang. The man was processed for violation of Title 8, USC 1325, Entry Without Inspection. Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents have apprehended four Mexican Mafia members during this fiscal year, which began on Oct. 1.
