POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT/JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: Landscape Maintenance Supervisor II ORGANIZATION: Rubicon Landscape Services provides premium quality landscape maintenance and installation for a variety of government and commercial customers throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. ACCOUNTABILITY: The Landscape Maintenance Supervisor II works under the direction of an Operations Manager or the General Manager, to provide landscape maintenance services at sites located in Contra Costa, Alameda and Marin counties. The Supervisor II will have direct responsibility for the performance and welfare of subordinates such as Supervisor I(s), Crew leaders, Lead Workers and other landscape workers and trainees as required by specific contract situations. QUALIFICATIONS: The Supervisor II must have: 1. A High School Diploma or the equivalent 2. At least five years of successful experience performing landscape maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, irrigation, planting, turf maintenance, mowing, equipment operation and maintenance, with at least three years experience supervising the work of others; 3. Demonstrated working knowledge of applied horticulture; tools, materials and practices of landscape maintenance; and of pesticide use and safety - pesticide applicator's license preferred; 4. Proven successful supervisory experience and proficiency, including excellent communication skills; demonstrated leadership and organizational abilities including effectively utilizing subordinate managers and work crews to accomplish objectives; 5. Resourcefulness, flexibility and the ability to work independently to complete contract work in a professional and high quality manner; 6. The ability as a representative of the agency to project a consistent, positive, professional and competent image in all dealings with customers and the public; 7. Experience in record keeping and reporting including cost sheets, timesheets, charge and receipt records, disciplinary warnings and supporting documents, and purchase orders; 8. Patience and sensitivity towards employees with special needs; and 9. This position requires the employee to be able to travel efficiently throughout the Bay Area. If the employee opts to meet these travel requirements by driving, proof of a valid and current driver license, current auto insurance, and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report are required. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Supervisor II will: 1. Work with specific customers, contract documents and a supervising Operations Manager, to be familiar with all pertinent contract requirements and issues under your charge; *Supervise Landscape Maintenance Supervisor I(s), Crew Leaders, Lead Workers, 2. Workers and Trainees, as necessary to accomplish contract work in a professional and high-quality manner; 3. Provide instruction and training as necessary and whenever possible to help develop and maintain a work environment that fosters employee growth and development; *Complete contracted work in the event of shortfall in quantity or quality of work by other 4. workers; 5. Maintain accurate, timely records -- prepare extra-work estimates and documents; 6. Transport and/or arrange for transport of personnel, tools and equipment to job sites, as necessary to accomplish contract work;

Obtain and maintain tools and equipment, and purchase supplies as directed; Attend staff meetings and training seminars, as directed; and Perform other duties as assigned by a Landscape Operations Manager or the General Manager of the Landscape Maintenance Services Department. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The Maintenance Supervisor II should be able to: *Work outdoors all seasons of the year; *Bend for up to 30% of the time. *Stand for up to 85% of the time. *Carry or Lift up to 30% of the time and up to 75 lbs. *Sit up to 15% of the time. *Kneel up to 10% of the time.
