MISSION EVANGELISM COMMISSION

THESE PROGRAMS AND GOALS HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED TO GIVE DIRECTION TO THE COMMISSION, THE LOCAL CHURCH, PASTORS AND LAITY IN OUR MINISTRY TOGETHER FOR OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.

MISSION EVANGELISM COMMISSION GENERAL PROGRAM

I.

THE PURPOSE OF THIS COMMISSION 1. The Biblical Foundation, Matthew 28:18-20, John 20:21 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." 2. The Statement of Purpose To obey Jesus' command to make disciples of all nations by promoting, educating, sending, and supporting ministries to cultures near and far. 3. The Structure Elected members, chair (for 2 years) and two (2) additional members. Chair will appoint additional members for a one ()1 year term - no term limits on appointees. (Refer to ARC Constitution 9.01) 4. Members of this commission Mission Advocates; CGWM Missions Coordinator; District memberships: North, South, West Virginia.

II.

MISSIONS AND VALUES 1. 2. Promote Cross Cultural Ministries via Conference-wide events, (e.g. rallies, banquets). Promote financial support of missions via fund raising events and campaigns (e.g. globe banks and other mechanisms). Administer budgeted money for program expenses (e.g. globe banks; snacks, etc.) Commission meeting expenses come out of administrative account. Promote Conference-wide Mission Sunday. Create commission portable display table to take to conference events (e.g. Conference Sessions, Pastor's Day Apart, etc.) Establish a network of "mission's advocates" representing each congregation, who will serve as that congregation's liaison with the Allegheny Region Missions and Evangelism Commission. Encourage cooperation with CGWM Missions Coordinators. Assist local churches in developing "mission teams", groups who will help implement missions and educate congregations regarding missions. Promote short-term mission outreach (e.g. ACTS and other trips). Encourage ongoing cooperation with Cross Cultural Ministries from the CGGC. Enlist youth and adults to participate in short-term trips with the goal of commitment toward vocational
