With Trimble Site Positioning System, you can perform a wide range of site positioning and measurement applications. SITE CONTROL OPERATIONS

The Trimble Site Positioning System allows you to calibrate the jobsite for GPS operations,and to record existing and establish new control points in convenient locations for total station operation or daily GPS check shots.

GENERAL SITE MEASUREMENTS

Position and record the location of features onsite, such as power lines, utilities, manholes, pipe inverts and existing structures.

GRADE CHECKING

Check both the finished grade and laid material thickness to get an instant report showing areas for rework and overall accuracy and consistency of grading operations. The Site Positioning System helps you identify gross errors, machine problems such as "blade slop and wear" or site calibration problems.

Choose Total Station or GPS

PROGRESS VOLUMES

On the first day, measure the control points for the job provided by the surveyor, and calibrate the site for GPS operations. On each visit to the jobsite, establish the base station at a known control point. Select the jobsite and design; the information is recalled and work is started. GPS & RTK Advantages

Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite positioning system designed and operated by the U.S. Department of Defense. GPS satellites broadcast radio signals with their position, precise timing and other information to GPS receivers on the ground. The GPS receiver uses the radio signals from several satellites to compute its exact location in three dimensions. Because it uses GPS satellite signals, the SPS780 is well suited to work anywhere that has a clear line of sight to the sky. Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) GPS delivers centimeter level (0.03 ft) accuracy--even when you're on the move--making it well suited to on vehicle or machine operations. RTK GPS technology can provide accurate positions at long distances from the base station, so most construction sites are covered from a single daily setup location.

Your Choice of Controllers

Trimble SCS900 Site Controller software runs on either the TCU or TSC2 controller, depending on your preferences. The Trimble TCU is a clip-on controller that can be used with the SPS780 or SPS770 GPS receivers, but is ideally suited for the SPS700 total

station. The TSC2 offers you a handheld controller for use with either the SPS700 total station or SPS770 and SPS780 GPS receivers. Both control units offer integrated Bluetooth® technology and optional integrated 2.4GHz radios for cable-free operation when working robotically with a total station. Large

hard disk storage, configured with either 64 MB or 128 MB of RAM, ultra-fast processors and support of external storage devices, such as two compact flash card slots on the TSC2 controller, means you'll never run out of storage space or processor speed when working with large data files.

Jobsite GPS calibration and establishment of additional control points in suitable locations. Initial site measurements to verify design levels as you start the project. Daily, weekly, monthly measurements to determine progress or material stockpile volumes and apply shrink / swell factors for bulking. Measure the locations of surveyor's hubs so that they can easily be reinstated if lost. Finished surface grade checks to ensure material thickness and finished grade elevations and tolerances have been achieved.
