Push Button Panels the bus-compatible alternative to conventional keypad operator panels. They are preassembled and ready for use. Configuration software is not required. Adaptations are performed on the device via parameterization.

Micro Panels Tailored to applications with the SIMATIC S7200 Micro PLC for automation tasks in the lower performance range.

Mobile Panels The portable operator panels facilitate operator control and monitoring at the actual scene of the event with direct access and visual contact to the process. They offer simple and secure hotswapping and can be used flexibly on machines or systems.

Panels For the efficient operation and monitoring of machines in various performance classes ­ either as Touch Panels (TP) with touch-sensitive displays or as Operator Panels (OP) with membrane keyboards.

Multi Panels These can be used for operator control and monitoring in the same way as the panels, with operation by means of touch screens or membrane keyboards. One engineering software program for all applications Within the range of SIMATIC HMI products, the WinCC flexible engineering software permits integrated configuration of all SIMATIC operator interfaces, up to and including PC-based visualization terminals. For PC solutions, WinCC flexible also provides the appropriate runtime software. WinCC flexible is available in several versions with progressive levels of price and performance, which are tailored to optimize the individual classes of operator interfaces. Once a configuration has been created, it can simply be used repeatedly within the SIMATIC HMI product range. The projects are scalable and can be transferred to different HMI platforms without the need for conversion even when the operator interfaces are different sizes.

Minimizing configuration costs by means of function block technology Reusable objects can be stored in a structured format in libraries. WinCC flexible already provides a wide variety of scalable and dynamically variable objects. Image blocks can be constructed from simple image objects on a customer-specific or project-specific basis. Changes to these image blocks only have to be performed at one central location. Intelligent tools for efficient configuration With the support of configuration wizards, the fundamental structure of an HMI project can be developed with a few mouse clicks at the start of the project. Table-based editors simplify the generation and processing of similar types of object, e. g. for variables, texts or messages.

Complex configuration tasks such as the definition of object animation or the creation of the fundamental operator prompts are simplified by means of graphical configuration. Security of investment WinCC flexible represents the next logical development step of the tried and tested ProTool family. Existing ProTool projects are compatible and can simply be converted and used for a project with WinCC flexible, thereby guaranteeing security of investment. In the case of operator interfaces (170/270/370 series) the conversion is 1:1. With other target systems (OP7, OP27/37, TP27/37), you can convert and subsequently edit the configuration data for a corresponding device supported by WinCC flexible.

OPC for vendor-independent communication OPC (OLE for Process Control) refers to a standardized and vendor-independent software interface. With the WinCC flexible /OPC server option, the Multi Panels are capable of communicating with every OPCcompatible application via Ethernet using TCP/IP. These applications (e.g. MES, ERP, or Office applications) may be from any manufacturer. The Multi Panel is available as data supplier (OPC server) to one or more OPC clients.

The new SIMATIC WinCC flexible engineering software, which facilitates integrated configuration of everything from the smallest Micro Panel to PC solutions, offers a considerable boost to configuration efficiency and new, innovative automation concepts for the machinelevel. Remote maintenance simplifies service and support The WinCC flexible /[email protected] option allows access from a PC via Internet Explorer to the Panels and Multi Panels of the 170/270/370 series, using industrial Ethernet or intranet/Internet. The latest configuration data, recipe data records, or passwords can be transferred to the operator panel without the need for anyone to be on-site. For this reason, HTML pages are integrated which can be supplemented at any time with user-specific pages.

Machines and systems all around the world can be observed via intranet/Internet from a single location, diagnosed by means of integral diagnostic functions and, if necessary, operated. An e-mail can also be sent automatically from the operator interface to maintenance personnel via an SMTP (simple mail transfer protocol) server. When using an e-mail/text message gateway, access is gained to standard networks (external service provider required), and in critical situations a text message can even be sent to a mobile phone. In this way, [email protected] reduces downtimes for machines and plants and saves costly deployment of personnel when service is required. In order to rule out the possibility of unauthorized access, password protection can be activated.

Client/server functionality and plant-wide data exchange With the WinCC flexible /[email protected] option, Panels and Multi Panels of the 170/270/370 series and PCs with WinCC flexible Runtime communicate with each other over Industrial Ethernet or the intranet/Internet. Plant-wide data exchange: With [email protected], SIMATIC HMI systems have access to one another in order to read or write variables. This enables the operator interfaces used at machine level to make data (variables) available to other SIMATIC HMI systems and to be used as data servers for higher-level systems. The same possibility also exists to the office world via a corresponding script (e.g. Excel via SOAP). The plant-wide retrieval of information or the archiving of process data is therefore possible

without any great configuration overhead. It is not necessary to intervene in the control program or to additionally load the process communication system. In addition, WinCC flexible /[email protected] allows client/server configurations for distributed operator stations or for solutions with a master terminal or control room. Distributed operator terminals: For machines distributed over a wide area which require several operator interfaces, "[email protected]" can be activated if required as distributed operating stations. These then obtain unrestricted access to the process via the master terminal which has the HMI application and the PLC connection. Rugged and economical SIMATIC Panels can be used as these [email protected]

Control center solutions: In control center solutions, for example, it is possible to access the machines and retrieve information from a central location using [email protected], without having to be on-site. The master terminal (e.g. a PC with WinCC flexible Runtime), as a [email protected], has access at all times to the user interface of the lower-level unit (e.g. machine or plant with the panel and PLC) and can operate and monitor it from a remote location. In client/server configurations, access procedures ensure coordinated operation so that only one operating system at a time can actively access the process.
