Abstrak : ABSTRACT Competency Based Career Development Model for Account Representative In Central Java I Regional Office of Directorate General of Taxes Supi The purpose of this research is to build competency based career development model for Account Representative in Central Java I Regional Office of Directorate General of Taxes. Compilation this model relate at competency and career development theory. This research type is descriptive research with using quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data obtained through spreading questioner to all Account Representative in Semarang Medium Tax Office and Semarang Gayamsari Small Tax Office amounting to 37 employees. While qualitative data obtained through in-depth interview to some Account representative and Chief Section of Supervision and Consultation in both of two tax offices. The final research of this research is the competency based career development model for Account Representative. In this model consisting of some element. The first element in this model is competency model or standard for Account Representative. Competency model for Account Representative consist of 9 competency type or dimension which is embraced in 2 cluster that is soft competency and hard competency. Soft competency include integrity; stakeholder service; policies, processess, and procedure; and interpersonal communication. While hard competency include technical competency in the filed taxation; fundamental duty and function; accountancy; computer; and company profile. The second element is assessment to Account Representative. The last element is determination Account Representative’s career path. Recommend of the result from this research that is require to form of competency dictionary for all position in Directorate General of Taxes. Despitefully require to be designed assessment by relied on competency dimension so that assessment do not only having admnistrative character but can become the source of information for the development of employees.
