Read all instructions before beginning. Note: All seam allowances are ¼".

INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Cut fabrics. ·Cut two 1½" x 6½"strips for left and right border. ·Cut two 1½" x 9" strips for upper and lower border. ·Cut a 9" square of fabric for the back of the pot holder. ·Cut one 9" square of cotton batting. ·Cut one 9" square of Insul-BrightTM.

2. Add border to quilt block for front fabric. ·Stitch borders to left and right edges of the block fabric. Press seams toward borders.

·Stitch borders to top and bottom edges of the base fabric. Press seams toward borders.

3. Create a quilt sandwich. ·Layer fabric in the following order: backing, right side down; Insul-BrightTM; cotton batting; and front fabric, right side up. ·Pin fabrics together with size 1 Curved Basting Pins; avoid seams.

4. Quilt potholder. ·Attach a Walking Foot. ·Quilt through all layers by stitching in the ditch, or in the well of the seams, of the block design sections and borders.

·Square the pot holder after the quilting is complete. 5. Add binding to finish the pot holder. ·Unfold short side of bias tape. ·Align opened binding edge at upper left corner of pot holder, right sides together. Pin. ·Stitch along the first fold, stopping ¼" from the first corner. Lock threads.

Stop stitching ¼" from corner; lock threads

·Fold the binding up, aligning the cut edge of the binding with the cut edge of the pot holder.

·Fold the binding down, meeting binding fold to top edge of pot holder and binding cut edge to pot holder side edges. Stitch seam on next side, starting at the folded edge.

·Repeat until last corner. Extend remaining binding 4" beyond corner. ·Fold binding around unfinished edge. Pin and edge-stitch binding.

·Create a loop at the 4" end of the binding. ­Stitch the loop and turn under the cut end. Tuck loop to back of pot holder. ­Stitch loop in place to create the hanger.
