lan Powell is a big man and he knew that he would never be comfortable or happy riding a stock Bagger. Since Alan is based in Scottsdale, AZ it wasn't hard to find a nationally known Bagger builder. Alan chose Phoenix-based Paul Yaffe to convert his stock Bagger from mild to wild. Alan felt that Paul had the right eye to build his dream Urban Bagger. Who would have thought that a white guy with red hair would have street cred, but that is Paul Yaffe! Alan's custom Bagger began as a '07 Road Glide. The 96" Twin Cam was rebuilt in-house to accommodate the Diamond Cut heads and cylinders. A DM Customs air cleaner was installed along with HarleyDavidson® Boom Can mufflers. Alan chose a 23" Bagger Nation DeVille wheel to ride up front. In order to accommodate the larger wheel, a Bagger Nation rake kit was installed to correct the ride geometry, along with an extra inch of stretch in the neck. The front end was given the Yaffe treatment with seven degree raked trees, Bagger Nation tubes and sliders, Yafterburner slider covers and a Bagger Nation Yaxle. To show off as much of that beautiful front wheel as

possible, the dual front brake setup was swapped for a single left-side caliper and rotor. The rear wheel is also a Bagger Nation DeVille. It's an 18" that is wrapped with Metzeler rubber. To accommodate Alan's long arms, a set of Bagger Nation Monkey Bars were installed, along with Performance Machine grips and Bagger Nation Power Mirrors. The stock H-D fairing has been modified by PY to accept the 23" wheel. The headlight nacelle is a Cycle Visions Illumabezel, which allows you to remove your stock turn signals. The stretched gas tank is from Bagger Nation, as are the stretched saddlebags and fenders. The Bagger Nation license plate mount has been frenched into the rear fender; Bagger Nation taillights in the saddlebags provide the brake lights and turn signals. Banana Boards have replaced the stock floorboards and allow Alan to comfortably rest his size 13s. The Bagger Nation sound system features 10 speakers and 600 watts of power. Guy Thieman made the custom seat that fits the custom gas tank perfectly. Hector Martinez applied the yellow paint with green pinstriping. First off, AP is not riding his Bagger in the photo; it's one of the Bagger Nation crew members. Alan is 6'6" and does wear size 13 shoes, but he was camera shy that day. AP didn't want us to run his Bagger since it's back at Paul's shop receiving a new paint scheme and who knows what else. We compromised and I promised to run some pictures of the updated Bagger in the near future if we could feature it now. Maybe Alan will even be in them next time. If you see AP cruising the Arizona desert, or maybe even in Sturgis, go up and talk to him; but only if you have a couple of hours to kill because he loves to talk.
