Environment designer Andy Warfel brings a refreshing energy and unique perspective to the development and execution of branded messaging and experience marketing environments. His process-driven working method has netted some of the most successful and emotionally resonant programs and properties for a wide range of clients, from the world's most prominent brands and government agencies, to neighborhood-focused specialty retailers and non-profit organizations. Coupling his training and expertise in theatre, television, live music, and permanent installations with the focused skill-sets of a close-knit, collaborative network of art directors, set stylists, graphic artists, 3D AutoCAD technicians, custom fabricators, and lighting and projection designers, Andy brings a truly unique solution to each project, creating award-winning* environments for clients around the globe, across a wide array of media. He has designed television shows for CBS, Court TV, Discovery, E!, ESPN, Fox News, MSNBC,, Time Warner, USA, and Viacom; consumer experiences, corporate presentations, product launches, and press events for Air France, Anheuser-Busch, Aston Martin, AT&T, Audi, Barclays, BellSouth, Boeing, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Citibank, Dodge, EMC, Ford, GAP, General Motors, GMC, GeorgiaPacific, Glaxo-Smith-Kline, IBM, Infor, International Truck, ITT-Sheraton, Jaguar, Johnson & Johnson, Land Rover, Lincoln, Mattel, McDonald's, Merck, Mercury, Microsoft, Motorola, Neiman Marcus, Nintendo, Pepsi, Pfizer, Sprint, Sun Microsystems, Texas Instruments, Unilever, Unisys, Vera Bradley, Volkswagen, Volvo, Whirlpool, and Xerox; concert tours including the 2004 Rock The Vote/MTV Choose Or Lose Tour, Mariah Carey's Butterfly Pacific Rim Tour, and the All Access Tour with Kid Capri, Doug E. Andy has provided retail design consultation to Diane Von Furstenburg, Louis Vuitton, and Vera Bradley; aesthetic environment consultation to Madison Square Garden and the cities of Seattle, Washington, and Irvington, New York; and created interior decor for ten Morton Williams gourmet groceries in New York City, the CMI airport terminal and a Cesar Pelli-designed Business Instructional Facility in Champaign, Illinois, and the visitor's center at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area west of Las Vegas. His theatrical designs have been seen regionally, off-off Broadway (including 2004's hit NYC Fringe Festival musical, Mimi le Duck, starring Annie Golden); Off-Broadway (including the New York Premiere of Clive Barker's Subtle Bodies); on Broadway (Associate Designer for Dream: The Johnny Mercer Musical); in Atlantic City, Las Vegas, and on National Tour with Footloose The Musical; and recently on film in the feature-length adaptation of Mark Roberts' hit play, Welcome To Tolono, which he also co-produced. Andy earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with honors (Dean's List and University Theatre Faculty Players Award and Appreciation Award), from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1991, and received a Master of Fine Arts in Set Design and Art Direction for Theatre, Film and Television from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in 1994, having been granted a full scholarship, a Graduate Assistantship in Scenic Painting, and a Department Award for Outstanding Achievement; he has since developed and taught new coursework for the department focused on new materials and modern techniques of stagecraft, now part of the advanced curriculum. As an art director at Hotopp Associates in New York City from 1994 to 1999, Andy designed numerous sets for television, theater, and corporate events, while also freelancing in the theatres and nightclubs. In the fall of 1999, Andy joined cpr-group of New York City as a freelance Creative Associate, and was named Partner and Chief Aesthetic Officer in the spring of 2000. Having moved his family in 2002 to the prairie of central Illinois, Andy continues to provide creative direction and environment design for corporate initiatives, press events, promotional tours, retail, museum, television, and theatrical projects, as well as designing, producing, and often dj-ing a variety of fundraising, social, and nightclub events. * Numerous New York Festival Awards, four Experience Marketer EX Awards, and at least one Telly.
