Sue has flown 50 flights in the few years Sue Roth, 2009 that she has flown for Angel Flight AFC Pilot of the Central, climbing the Mission Milestone Year ladder faster than the vast majority, and 16 flights during 2009. But what separates Sue from the pack is her extraordinary passion to educate her community about the services that AFC provides. Sue regularly participates in community functions and events to share AFC with others. She has flown to regional airports in and around Wichita sharing AFC information with FBO Managers and worked closely with local media to assure that Angel Flight Central stays "top-of-mind" in her community. Sue's 55 hours of ground-volunteer work in 2009 brings her total very near the 300 hour milestone in total; which is equal to or higher than most. It is with great enthusiasm and confidence that we announce Sue Roth as the 2009, Angel Flight Central Pilot of the Year!

A heartfelt "thanks" to the entire AFC family of volunteers and pilots for a successful 2009 fiscal year! Congratulations and THANK YOU for providing "Free Flights for People in Need!"

The heart of Angel Flight Central is its volunteers who serve the organization in many diverse ways. Each brings their time, talent and creativity to collectively "give hope wings." Kent McKee, Volunteer Pilot in Sowing away for Varna, Illinois has been on a AFC! mission to educate his community about Angel Flight Central and heighten the awareness of all of the "good" that occurs at his local airport, Marshall County (C75). Kent has spent the last several months getting the AFC story into publications and media outlets and has recently began 4/14/2010

planning to hit the speaker's bureau trail to spread the word. However, it is one thing to want to speak in front of service organizations and community groups and another thing to persuade them for an invitation! Kent revealed his creative side in January when he approached the University of Illinois ExtensionMarshall Putnam 4-H Youth Development Unit with an offer they could not refuse. The Marshall Putnam Unit has a group that specialize in sowing projects, so Kent recruited the ladies to make custom "snuggie-type" blankets for the Angel Flight Central passengers arriving/leaving Marshall County airport, and while the ladies sowed Kent completed his presentation on AFC services! Way to go Kent! A huge "thanks" to the ladies in the U.I.U.C. MarshallPutnam Unit for their time and great product and to all of the AFC pilots, management and staff that call Marshall County Airport "home". You are the heart of AFC! NorthStar Wing Update Chuck Huntley Accepts Leadership Role Chuck was introduced to Angel Flight Central during Hurricane Katrina. Since that time, Chuck has flown as a Mission Assistant on several "angel flights". Chuck has been very active with the NorthStar Wing; attending meetings and adding very insightful suggestions and advice. Chuck has attended many outreach events and is connected with Minneapolis business and government. Mr. Huntley realizes the potential of the great volunteers and pilots in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. He is looking forward to organizing social and outreach events, as well as some creative fundraising ideas for the Wing. On February 20, 2010 the AFC Board unanimously approved Chuck for the post. of Directors

It is with confidence and excitement that we announce Chuck Huntley as the new NorthStar Wing Leader! A HOLIDAY BLESSING Angel Flight Central would like to thank all of those who so generously donated to the 2009-10 Holiday Appeal. Your passionate gifts totaled over $31,000 in direct support for 4/14/2010

Would you like to help sponsor an Angel Flight mission each month? Would you like to do it without ever writing a check? Do you ever search the internet for information? Have we got a deal for you! GoodSearch is a web search engine with results powered by Yahoo. It works like any other search engine (such as Google, etc.) with one big difference. Each time you perform an internet search using GoodSearch money is donated to charity! Search engines and sites make their money via advertising and link placement (much like product placement at the grocery store or in movies). GoodSearch was created with the idea that they would donate roughly 50% of this revenue to designated charities. This translates into roughly a penny each time you perform a search. That may not sound like much on the surface, but do a little math. There are well over 1,000 volunteers, pilots and interested parties in the Angel Flight Central "network." If half of us use GoodSearch and average 2 interest searches a day that translates into over $3,000 per year in donations to Angel Flight! GoodSearch is user friendly and comparable in function and speed to any other search engine and this benefit is absolutely free to users and to Angel Flight Central. To start using it today and making money for Angel Flight follow these steps:

1. go to 2. in the middle of the screen you'll see a box with the heading "who do you goodsearch for?" Type in "Angel Flight Central" and click "verify" then use the drop down box and choose: Angel Flight - Central (Kansas City, MO)(Your selection will be saved so that you don't have to do this each time.) 3. use the search function as you would on any other search site 4/14/2010

4. bookmark the page and/or follow the links on the page to add GoodSearch to your tool bar or make it your homepage.

As you can see when you get to the site, you can also create donations by shopping on line using GoodShop through such merchants as Target, GAP, and Best Buy. And there are links that make it easy to spread the word to your friends and associates so that they, too, can help us raise money. You can click on "success stories" on the left of the GoodSearch page for samples of how much some organizations are raising. Start using GoodSearch today and watch the donations "take-off" for Angel Flight Central!
