Call for abstract

2012 AASLD-EASL-APASL Joint Workshop School of Research Methodology Abstract submission deadline: Nov 25, 2011

The workshop, entitled with "School of Research Methodology", is organized by the three international associations, APASL, AASLD and EASL, with aims to facilitate patientoriented research in the Asia-Pacific region by fostering the development of academic faculty and to bring together junior members of the Asian hepatology community with experts for close interaction and education. Therefore, this workshop will target junior faculty and trainees from developing Asian countries and provide opportunities for them to learn from leading researchers and experts in a small group, as well as didactic, setting. It will take place on Feb 16th, 2012, during the 2012 annual conference of the APASL in Taipei, Taiwan. A total of 25 participants, namely trainees and young investigators will be selected based on abstracts and give travel grants. For submission, it requires the abstract, recommendation letter, and curricular vitae (age, and current affiliated institute and position should be included). The criteria for selecting an eligible participant are listed below. Eligibility of applicants o Fellow in training in gastroenterology or Hepatology with interest in liver disease o Junior faculty members (instructor and assistant professor level) age 40 years of younger o Able to submit an abstract for consideration o Able to travel and participate in the workshop, including reasonable fluency in English o A letter of recommendation from their supervisor Program at a glance: including the morning lecture session and the afternoon small group discussion Lecture topic Speaker
