Plessis November workshops is all that we have

at the moment. As soon as more is available, we will publish in a future newsletter edition: ·Workshop prices ·Hotel information To answer another question, here is Jackie's edited response: "I prefer students to be in class - they do themselves a disservice by not being there . . . please tell the parties that I do not feel comfortable selling workshop kits to people who do not attend...it is unfair to them, me, the host shop/ guild and the other students who made the effort and cost to attend."

A Mystery Sampler Club from Brenda Gervais of Country Stitches/With Thy Needle & Thread . . .

Wow! What a great idea Katy at Norden Crafts had, to invite Brenda to design a mystery sampler! Many of you obviously love mysteries but know that it will be wonderful, based on Brenda's other wonderful designs. We have provided as much information as we know at this time, and here's what we know: ·This Special Summer Project is a 3-part original sampler described as a 21st century design with a 19th century flair. ·Club members will receive the design in 3 installments ~ the first will detail the border, and the second and third patterns will detail the center of the sampler. Release dates are May 10, June 10, and July 10, the dates our distributor will ship. ·Design size, 173w x 190h. ·From its title, "Birds of a Feather," I'm sure that it will have bird(s). A faint image of the sampler is shown in the photograph to the left. How do you join this Club? Sign up now (each sampler section is $7 each) and give us your choices for your project (prices vary depending on your choices): * Weeks Dye Works Linen in 30c, 35c, or 40c OR Lakeside Linen * 19 skeins of Weeks cotton flosses OR a conversion to silk overdyed threads. Unfortunately, until we get the thread list after May 10, we can't provide any details on the silk palette. Chessie & Me's "Hillside Sheep Needlebook" $10 + Lakeside's 32c Vintage Sienna Night $29 + the Belle Soie $75 for this very adorable needlework accessory item. We were fortunate to see it develop as Linda stitched it while visiting us in January, and many of us put it on our have-to-do list then. We currently have the very special double-dyed fabric in stock. But don't delay!

Another Fabulous Project!

Clockwise from above: Marianne's beautiful "Dorcas Haynes" as reproduced by Darlene O'Steen. Darlene's reproduction is no longer available, BUT The Scarlet Letter's is. Seeing Marianne's makes me plan some time this weekend to "find" my sampler in progress so this exquisite sampler can be a part of The Attic's Summer Sampler Series. Last night we were so pleased to have fellow Cheeseheads Mary Ann and Lucy join our Thursday night stitch-in. Above right, Lucy's "EP 1838" from The Essamplaire and, right, Mary Ann's "Helen Vertue" from The Scarlet Letter. As sampler lovers AND fellow Cheeseheads, we were simply delighted to have them with us.

Debi's beautiful rendition of "Quaker Virtues" from ByGone Stitches

that we showed you last week engendered questions from several of you about her colors, and Debi is pleased to share with you her choices: ·Lakeside's Vintage Lentil 40 ct ·Belle Soie Tortoise Shell ·Weeks Dye Works Cognac

From Darlene: Mount the fabric so you're stitching in the dip (backwards to some) and it will be easier to end your threads on the back. From The Attic's Debra: The Hardwick hoops have a number stamped on the inner and outer edge. When those are matched up, you get the tightest grip on the fabric.

Last weekend's near-100 temperatures "popped" many of our rose blossoms, and they were beautiful. A few closeups show why these are my favorite flowers. What exquisite beauty in each petal! Another heart-stirring scene, our beautiful American flag in the evening sunset, photo taken last week as we went to dinner with our visiting family, Barb and Ken from California.
