Facilities The school was founded in 1995 and has recently moved from its original site in Adliya to a large and striking new purpose-built site in Hamala. The school has very good facilities which include specialist facilities like science labs, ICT suites, a drama studio, food technology, music and art rooms, a floodlit astro-turf football pitch, tennis, netball and basketball courts as well as two indoor pools, one for younger children. The school also has a large cafeteria. Curriculum and Exams Curriculum: UK, Exams: GCSE, GCE A The teaching programme is based on the English National Curriculum. The school has very good examination results; the students who wrote their examinations in May and June 2009 achieved the following results: In GCSE, 92.3% of students achieved 5 or more A* to C grades, with 72% achieving 8 or 9 passes at this level. At `A' Level, there was a 96% pass rate with 58% A/B grades and 34% A grades. French is taught as part of the curriculum for all students from the age of 5 and Spanish is available from age 11. Currently up to Year 9, Arabic is compulsory for all Arab nationals, as is Islamic Studies. Arabic as an additional language is also compulsory for all other students up to Year 6. A wide range of sports is offered, including rugby, football, swimming, tennis, athletics and basketball. The Arts also play an important role in the life of the school: music, singing and dance thrive and a number of performances are held each year. Extra-Curricula Students are encouraged to participate in the wide range of extra-curricular activities in sport, music and drama with opportunities for overseas travel and school journeys, for example, ski trips, MUN and the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.

05 We pride ourselves on our academic success and our care for individual children. 06 The Infant School provides for children in Key stage 1, from 3-6 years old. At this age children are encouraged to take part in a range of activities.

Small class sizes, close monitoring and frequent opportunities to discuss a student's progress reflect the school's belief that pastoral care is of the utmost importance.
