WELCOME TO THE TURNER FAMILY

Today we welcome our new ly appointed pastor and parsonage family, Rick and Donna Turner. Rev. Turner was born and raised in LaGrange, Georgia. He graduated from LaGrange High School, Georgia Southern College and has his Master of Divinity Degree from Candler School of Theology, Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia. He was married to Wanda Efurd and they had two children, Kim and Richie. Kim is married to Bill Tyson and they have three children: Turner, Gunnar and Konner. Richie is married to Becca and they have two children: Carolyne and Ret. Wanda died in 2003. In 2006, he married Donna Brown. Donna has two sons, Scott and Jason. Coming most recently from Blakely First UMC, Rev. Turner served Moultrie First UMC, Bainbridge First UMC, Brunswick First UMC, W arner Robins First UMC and other appointments in the South Georgia Conference. His hobbies include golfing and fishing. Come join us Sunday morning for worship. Rev. Turner will be preaching at all three services. At 9:45 A.M. you are invited to come to the fellow ship hall for fellowship and the opportunity to meet, greet and welcome Rick and Donna. Welcome Rick and Donna to your new home! We look forward to being in ministry with you.

ALTAR FLOW ERS: The flow ers on the altar today are placed there in honor of Carter and Glenda M orton in honor of their 50 th wedding anniv ersary with p raise and thanksgiving and all glory to God by Jeff, Camille, M allory and Jay Moss and John, M ichelle, Lauren and Lindsey Gowan.

LA ITY CO UN CIL Is scheduled to meet Monday, June 20, at 6:00 P.M . in the fellow ship h all. All members of the Coun cil are urged to attend.

XYZ Tuesday, June 21 11:30 A .M . Bring your favorite covered dish and invite a friend to come with you for a good mea l, program and fellowship. Annette and Charles Giddens will be presenting the program. All 55 plus are invited to become a part of this group in the church that meets each month on the 3 rd Tuesday. BUCK ET BRIGADE: For June will be going to the South Georg ia Conference Special M ission Day Offerings.

CHILDREN, June 19 Sunday School: All children should come to the Education Building. Preschool children should meet downstairs. Children K through 5th grade should meet in the Upper Rooms Bible Village. Firm Foundations: No Firm Foundations until September. Summer Activities are now open to the public. If you haven't registered for Marvelous Mondays and you would like a spot, contact Katie as soon as possible. Please call Katie Odum or visit the website (www.cairofumc.org) for more information or to register for events. Marvelous Mondays: June 27 - Zoink's/Fun Station The vans will leave CFUMC at 8:30 A.M. We ask that you drop off your child between 7:30 8:15 A.M. The van will leave at 8:30 A.M. Pick up time is 2:30 P.M. Your child must be registered and all fees must be paid by Friday, June 24 in order to participate. See Katie for more details. Fabulous Fridays: June 24 - Survivor Night Register by June 17! Send your child in clothes that can get very dirty. Please also send a towel and a change of clothes. Remember that FF are 5:30 - 9:30 P.M. for children 3 years old - 5th grade. Nursery provided for children 6 months - 2 years. There is no charge, however, donations are accepted to help cover expenses. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED WITH VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL!!! HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! Father's Day, a holiday which honors fathers worldwide, is celebrated in the United States on the third Sunday of June. It originated in the United States in 1910, a few years after the country began celebrating Mother's Day. Father's Day became an official U.S. holiday in 1972.

MISSION TRIP: Please be in prayer for our mission team from Cairo First UMC traveling to Costa Rica, July 21-26. We will collect items to take to the people of Jaco. Donation lists can be found in each SS classroom. Thank you for your support!
