Participation in Orientation is mandatory for all new freshmen students. Attendance for transfer students is not required but strongly recommended. REGISTRATION

Please pay registration fees at least 3 business days prior to your Orientation date in order to register during the program. Additionally, all registration holds must be resolved prior to your Orientation date. Visit the GET website (https:// get.calstatela.edu) to view any holds you may have. If you have not received your CIN and/or PIN numbers, contact the Registrar's O ce at (323) 343-3940.

WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND?

REGISTRATION . . .

Orientation leaders and department representatives will be available to assist you with our online GET (Golden Eagle Territory) registration system.

TESTING REQUIREMENT FOR FIRST-TIME FRESHMEN AND LOWER DIVISION TRANSFER STUDENTS ONLY

Unless exempt, you must take the Entry Level Mathematics (ELM) exam and English Placement Test (EPT). Scores, or exemption status, must be received prior to your Orientation date or you will not be able to register. For more information about registering for these tests, contact the University Testing O ce at (323) 343-3160.

UPPER DIVISION TRANSFER STUDENTS (60 SEMESTER OR 90 QUARTER UNITS)

You must complete the 4 General Education subject courses (English, speech, critical thinking, and math) and 60 semester/90 quarter units prior to the beginning of summer classes. If you are currently taking a class, or classes, to complete these requirements, you must bring a transcript or grade card(s) verifying the course(s) and nal grade(s).

Do I have to attend Orientation? Yes, Orientation is MANDATORY for all new freshmen. Orientation is strongly recommended for transfer students. When should I return the reservation form? All payments and reservation forms must be received 10 business days prior to your Orientation date. Reservations are taken on a rst-come, rst-served basis. In order to experience a smooth transition and to process all documentation prior to attending Orientation, please return the reservation/fee analysis form to the Cashier's O ce. Will I receive a con rmation of my reservation? Yes. After your fee payment and reservation form is processed, you will receive a letter con rming your Orientation date, parking information, a campus map and a parking permit for the day. How much does it cost to attend Orientation? The Orientation program is $60.00 (non-refundable). Will Financial Aid cover my Orientation fee or ID card? No. Financial Aid does not cover the Orientation fee or the Golden Eagle One card. If you have any questions regarding your Financial Aid award, please contact the Center for Student Financial Aid at (323) 343-6260. Will a meal be provided? A light continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.

May I bring a guest? No. Orientation is designed for students only and space is limited. However, if you have special needs and must be accompanied for assistance, please call the University Orientation Program, at (323) 343-3195. How will I know what classes are available? After academic advisement, an open class list will be available for your use.

How long is Orientation? One-day program Check-in will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. (after the program begins, late arrivals will not be admitted). The program will begin at 8:50 a.m. and will end once registration is completed (approximately 5:00 p.m.) Students must attend the entire program to receive priority registration

ORIENTATION CHECKLIST

Return reservation/fee analysis form 10 business days prior to your Orientation date. Pay all fees: Orientation, registration, ID card, other. Take appropriate placement tests (ELM/EPT), if needed. Submit all outstanding documents (transcripts, residency veri cation, etc.). Bring your CIN and PIN to Orientation. Both are required for registration. Check for possible registration holds on GET (Golden Eagle Territory) at https://get.calstatela.edu.

For on-campus housing information, please contact the Housing Services O ce at (323) 343-4800, or you can apply by downloading the application, license agreement, and payment schedule at www.calstatela.edu/univ/housing and mailing the appropriate forms to Housing Services. The address is 5300 Paseo Rancho Castilla, Los Angeles, CA 90032. Applications are processed on a rst-come, rst-served basis, and you are encouraged to apply early since space is limited.

A student's registration process is not considered complete until all required fees have been paid. Failure to pay fees in full may result in a hold being placed on your account, possible disenrollment and forfeit any money already paid. Cash and check payments can be made in person at the Cashier's Office, Administration Building, Room 128. Check payments must be made payable to CSULA. Please write your CIN on your check payment. Your full payment will allow you to register on the same day, if it is your scheduled appointment date on GET. Checks deposited in the Cashier's depository drop box or mailed may take three business days to process before you can register for classes. For details, please see"Fees" page 20 of the Summer Schedule of Classes. Please Note: students that decide not to attend, must drop all courses using GET before the first day of the quarter to avoid a proration charge. For details, please see page 17 of the Schedule of Classes.
