Sarah and her husband returned to Tucson in JanSarah Barone uary after a short Customer Service stint in Oregon. Representative, Her husband, Main Branch Jeff Barone DC, is a chiropractor at Integrative Medical Associates. Sarah enjoys working out at the gym, anything outdoors and cooking. She bakes her own bread too. Her new motto is, "use whatever we have in the kitchen." Carrie and her husband just relocated to Tucson from California in December 2009. She really liked the feel of Canyon Community Bank from the moment she stepped through the doors. Carrie prides herself in knowing the customers' needs and works hard for everyone that walks through the door. Carrie rides a Honda Shadow Ace motorcycle (that's right, she drives one herself!). She and her husband are looking forward to discovering as many restaurants as possible, and riding their motorcycles all over Southern Arizona.

Corinna Johnson Branch Manager & Head of Retail Banking, Main Branch

Kathy loved getting to know so many people in the Marana community, and really missed that interaction when she "tried" to retire. She chose Canyon Community Bank as her next career move because she feels she can make a difference in the lives of our customers, and touch each person in a special way.

Kathy Miller Branch Manager, Continental Ranch

Kathy considers herself creative when it comes to business development and handling challenges. She also loves to dance and sing Karaoke. New Team Member Jerry Bustamante, Business Development Officer

For those of you who have never met or heard of Jerry Bustamante, he is one of the icons in the Northern Pima County region. Jerry was the President / CEO of the Northern Pima County Chamber of Commerce from 2001-2008. He was instrumental in helping grow the NPCCC to record membership numbers, and was always a powerful community business leader and advocate. Jerry subsequently took a position as President / CEO of the Chandler Chamber of Commerce, which meant he unfortunately had to commute to Chandler every day. When his little daughter asked if she could come visit him at his other home, he knew it was time to make a change! Fortunately, Jerry is now with Canyon Community Bank as the Business Development Officer. You will see Jerry out in the community at events and networking on behalf of the bank. Jerry and his wife are very busy attending their three youngest kids' band, gymnastics, swimming, baseball, soccer and other school activities. Their oldest son is in Florida working at Walt Disney World.

Whenever he can find some spare time, Jerry likes to golf, work around the yard and in his garage (man cave). It's great to have you back in Tucson, Jerry!

Canyon Community Bank Wins Marana Chamber Community and Business Builder Award!

Many banks, large national banks in particular, continue to be in the news and generally not in a good light. I am pleased that Canyon Community Bank has also been in the news recently. On February 10, 2010 the Marana Chamber of Commerce awarded our bank its Business Builder of the Year Award for businesses with 11 to 50 employees. This award is a great honor for our bank because it exemplifies the mission of Canyon Community Bank, which is "to serve the people of the Tucson metropolitan area, earn their ongoing trust and focus on improving the quality of life in our community. This will be accomplished by providing personal, confidential attention along with high quality services. We will maintain a responsible financial institution dedicated to developing economic growth and stability in our community, while earning a return which satisfies our shareholders."

Our bank is poised to continue making a difference...

While our local economy has had its share of ups and downs lately, we continue to provide high quality banking products and personalized service to our customers. As a result, the bank experienced significant growth in deposits during 2009 and during the first four months of 2010. As a locally owned bank, we are simply better stewards of these funds than our large national bank competitors. We will continue to use these deposits, or as we like to call them "community reinvestment funds," to help our community grow and prosper. I am pleased to say that our bank is poised to make a difference in our community during the coming years! Chuck Luhtala ~ Canyon Community Bank

This information was in The New York Times a while ago as part of their "Spotlight on the Home" series that highlighted creative and fanciful ways to solve common problems. · Feeling tired in the afternoon, put down the caffeinated soda and pick up a cucumber. Cucumbers are a good source of B Vitamins and Carbohydrates that can provide that quick pick-me-up that can last for hours Tired of your bathroom mirror fogging up after a shower? Try rubbing a cucumber slice along the mirror, it will eliminate the fog and provide a soothing, spa-like fragrance. Are grubs and slugs ruining your planting beds? Place a few slices in a small pie tin and your garden will be free of pests all season long. The chemicals in the cucumber react with the aluminum to give off a scent undetectable to humans but drive garden pests crazy and make them flee the area. (WOW) Looking for a fast and easy way to remove cellulite before going out or to the pool? Try rubbing a slice or two of cucumbers along your problem area for a few minutes, the phytochemicals in the cucumber cause the collagen in your skin to tighten, firming up the outer layer and reducing the visibility of cellulite. Works great on wrinkles too!!! (DOUBLE WOW) Want to avoid a hangover or terrible headache? Eat a few cucumber slices before going to bed and wake up refreshed and headache free. Cucumbers contain enough sugar, B vitamins and electrolytes to replenish essential nutrients the body lost, keeping everything in equilibrium, avoiding both a hangover and headache!!
