The Economist Intelligence Unit is the world's foremost provider of geopolitical analysis. Its regular reports include "liveability" and "quality-of-life" rankings of the world's major cities, which receive widespread media coverage. In March 2009, The Economist issued a detailed forecast outlining the current world economic crisis and its possible effects on political stability. Individual countries were ranked for vulnerability of political instability.
