3. If I currently use Castrol EDGE should I use Castrol EDGE with Titanium Fluid Strength Technology now? Yes. . . Castrol's best motor just got better. Castrol EDGE with Titanium FST maintained maximum horsepower 60% longer than Castrol SYNTEC. The addition of Castrol's Titanium molecule enables EDGE with FST to deliver superior performance on deposits, wear, and oxidation. The industry spec information remains in tact for EDGE with FST. Castrol EDGE Meets or exceeds the world's toughest industry specifications: ACEA A1/B1, A5/B5 (0W-20 and 5W-20 meet ACEA A1/B1 only) dexos1TM performance requirements in 5W-20 and 5W-30 viscosities3 ILSAC GF-5, API SN 4. What is FST and what product benefits does it offer? "FST" stands for "Fluid Strength Technology" and is the brand name for Castrol's proprietary Titanium molecule that offers added strength to deliver

superior performance against deposits, wear and oxidation. The addition of Titanium makes Castrol EDGE with FST Castrol's most advanced motor oil. In extreme tests Castrol EDGE with FST maintained horsepower 60% longer* * does not apply to 5W-20 grade) Castrol EDGE Meets or exceeds the world's toughest industry specifications: ACEA A1/B1, A5/B5 (0W-20 and 5W-20 meet ACEA A1/B1 only) dexos1TM performance requirements in 5W-20 and 5W-30 viscosities3 ILSAC GF-5, API SN 5. What is the difference between Castrol EDGE Titanium FST and other titanium additives in the marketplace? Castrol's titanium molecule was developed by Castrol and is unique and proprietary to us. Castrol's titanium molecule is patent pending. EDGE with Titanium FST has the strength to enable Castrol EDGE to maintain maximum horsepower 60% longer than SYNTEC

6. Why does Castrol EDGE no longer claim 8x greater wear protection than Mobil 1? The industry is undergoing many formula changes due to a new spec called GF-5 (see GF-5 FAQs). As a result, many of our formulas and the formulas of our competitors are changing. Therefore, the formulas in the marketplace are no longer the same so the claim is no longer valid. Castrol will test the new formulas to continue to demonstrate superior product performance.

7. Will the price of Castrol SYNTEC or Castrol EDGE change as a result of this change? No, there is no price increase as a result of these formula improvements or brand name changes. 8. What is happening to Castrol SYNTEC 20W-50? Castrol SYNTEC 20W-50 classic car formulation is being replaced by Castrol with SYNTEC Power Technology 5W-50 viscosity grade. The 5W-50 grade will also be specially formulated for classic car use and will adopt the 20W-50 claims designed for use in classic cars. The 5W-50 formulation will contain more zinc additives than the 20W-50 and will also enhance start up ability in cold temperatures as well as enable better fuel economy* Compared to SAE 20W-50. 9. Why is Castrol SYNTEC 0W-30 formula not changing right away?

The 0W-30 is a global European formula. The volume is much higher in other markets than it is in the US and those markets require the specifications of the current formula. Like 5W-40, the packaging on 0W-30 will remain SYNTEC until we receive OEM approvals on the new name. 10. When is Castrol SYNTEC 5W-40 changing to EDGE? Since this product is primarily formulated to meet European vehicle specifications (Mercedes Benz and VW) , 5W-40 will transition to Castrol EDGE with SYNTEC Power Technology once all OEM approvals are received for the new product name. The process to receive OEM approvals typically takes about six months. Until such time, 5W-40 will remain SYNTEC branded.
