FACULTY Susan Brooker (Syllabus & Non-Syllabus Ballet)

Currently the Dance Department Chair at the Hartt School, University of Hartford in Connecticut, Ms. Brooker has a diploma from the London College of Dance and Drama and experience nationally and internationally as a teacher, choreographer and dance school director. In addition to being a Fellow and Examiner of the Cecchetti Faculty of the I.S.T.D., Ms. Brooker is Honorary President of L'Associazione Culturale, Ateneo Danza, Italy and a member of the Advisory Board of the Cecchetti Society U.S.A. Inc.

Denise Gillman (Syllabus & Non-Syllabus Ballet) began her training with Marjorie B. Randazzo in Ypsilanti, Michigan, completing all of the student

examinations through Diploma. She continued her studies at the National Ballet School of Canada. Ms. Gillman is a frequent guest teacher in the United States and in England. She has been on the faculty at the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School, Carnegie Mellon University, Louisville Ballet School and the International Summer School of the Cecchetti Council of America. She is a teacher of the CCA and is certified by the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance in the Classical Ballet Cecchetti method.

Kristen Bauza (Syllabus & Non-Syllabus Ballet, Modern ) received her BFA in Dance from the University of Illinois.

In addition to teaching, she performed with Zephyr Dance, a modern dance company in Chicago. Kristen has received her Grade VI Teacher Certification from the Cecchetti Council of America, and is a member of the Chicago National Association of Dance Masters.

Jeff Hancock (Fosse Technique) is Co-Director of Same Planet Different World Dance Theater. He was a founding member and principal dancer for

River North Chicago Dance Co. from 1991-2001 and also danced for Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Dance Kaleidoscope, and Jan Erkert & Dancers. He has performed works of Paul Taylor, Twyla Tharp, and others. Jeff is on faculty at Columbia College, the Lou Conte Dance Studio and several other studios. His choreography has been set on many companies including River North Chicago Dance Co., Hubbard Street II, Same Planet Different World, and numerous regional companies. He was nominated for Ruth Page Awards for his dancing and his choreography.

Allison Kurtz

(Syllabus Ballet, Modern) is a graduate of Northwestern University, and has been working as a dancer, actor, choreographer and teacher in and around Chicago since the age of sixteen. She is an ensemble member of Striding Lion InterArts Workshop as a performer, choreographer, teacher, and Education Director. She is certified as a teacher by the Cecchetti Council of America through Grade II and is on faculty at Dance Center Evanston.

Victoria Barlow (Non-Syllabus Ballet, Ballet Pantomime & Variations) completed her BA in Dance Education at Columbia College.

She was a principal member of the Rockford Dance Company, a member of the Bryant Ballet and has been seen in numerous Chicagoland productions of The Nutcracker. She is currently performing with the Chicago Ballet. Ms. Barlow is on faculty at Dance Center Evanston and Dancenter North.

SCHOLARSHIP AUDITION

12:15-1:30 PM Full and partial scholarships are available for both the Cecchetti International Summer School at Hope College, Michigan and next year's two Workshops. To audition, students must have already passed Grade I and be 10 years old by the date of the audition (only ages 12 & up will be considered for Summer School awards.) Students may not receive the Summer School scholarship two years in a row. Those interested in auditioning should request an application from their teacher and return the form with their workshop registration. Audition fee: $10.00 in advance ($15.00 day of workshop.)
