The Lutheran Laymen's League Zone 16 meeting will be TODAY, Sunday, April 11 at St. John's in Pittsville. This is our Annual Rally. Swiss Steak will be served at 5:00 pm with mashed potatoes, vegetable, dessert and beverage. Neal Schalow will be speaking on the History of LLL.

P.U.P.P.E.T.S. NEWS

Happy Spring and Happy Easter from P.U.P.P.E.T.S. All 3 groups have been very busy getting ready for Easter and Puppet Festival. We hope you will be able to join us on April 8. All of our puppeteers will be performing that evening in preparation for the MN Puppet Festival. The Thursday evening service will showcase our Competition Song and Dowel Rod routine. Both will be performed in Blacklight and will be more effective to see then in the darkness of evening. This is one Thursday service that you don't want to miss. Night Light

All youth in grades 7-12 are invited to join us for a new year of Bible Study. Night Light meets at Tammy's house (1407 North Shawano) every Sunday evening from 7:00-8:00 pm. We hope you'll join us.

Nursery

Camp Luther News

CAMP LUTHER HAPPY CAMPER 5K TRAIL RUN-MAY 30!! This first annual race is a beautiful and challenging course through the trails of Camp Luther. You will run by two lakes and up and down many hills on this exciting, winding course. The race will start at 10:00 am. A Kid's Fun Run will follow the main race. There will be awards for the top mail, female and in each age category. Proceeds will benefit the Camp Luther Campership Fund. Go to www.campluther.com for more information and to register. Christian Skate Nights

Melody Gardens Skateland features Christian skates night once a month. The next one is on Friday, April 23, from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. Admission is $2.75, skate rent, $.50. Bring the whole family and enjoy a fun evening of roller skating to Christian music!

Food and Fellowship

Moving on...in Style on Tuesday, April 13 from 12:30-2:00 pm at Belvedere. Cost is $10 which includes lunch, program tax, and tip. Feature: Spring Fashion Show by Christopher and Banks. Speaker: Laurie Kimball, Mpls, MN, shares how we're always "moving on" in life even without changing locations. Learn some tips about moving on physically, emotionally and spiritually. Contact: Polly at 384-4576 or Christine at 387-3502 for reservations. Annual Beef Dinner, Sunday, April 25. Serving 11:30 am until 2:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, Vesper. Menu: Roast Beef, Corn, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Coleslaw, Homemade Bread, Beverage, Slice of Pie. Cost: Age 13-Adult: $8; Youth Up to Age 12: $4; Preschool: Free.

Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School

Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School students will again participate in VALLEY DAYS which will be held on Friday, May 7. Valley Days is held twice a year and in our opportunity to give back to the surrounding communities. If you know of anyone in need of volunteer help, please call Jamie in the office at 715-693-2693. Some sample projects are raking yards, painting, cleaning, stacking wood, working at homeless shelters and other businesses that may need some volunteer work. Students cannot use power tools or climb ladders and supplies must be provided by the recipient of the work. Students will be transported and supervised by teachers and parents. 5th and 6th GRADE HOWL WITH THE WOLVES DAY-ALL 5th and 6th graders are invited to visit Wisconsin Valley Lutheran High School on Thursday, April 15. The day will begin with Chapel at 9:00, include lunch and conclude at 1:15 pm. EVERYONE IS WELCOME! Please RSVP to the school office (715693-2693) if you would like to attend.

Vision Planning Meeting

Bible Study

Rapid Deployment Kits

Rapid Deployment Kits will be sent to service personal by Evangelism. The cost for each kit is $3.25 and are supplied by the Military Ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ. The money collected from the Donation can in the Fellowship Hall during the Fellowship time each Sunday is used to cover the cost of the kits. If you would like to make treats for the Fellowship time, please sign up on the sheet provided on the counter in Fellowship Hall. Thank You.

The Lutheran Hour

The following dates are available for 2010 for the sponsorship of The Lutheran Hour over WDLB-AM at 8:00 am on Sunday Mornings. What better way to help spread the Word of God! A full sponsorship is $94 per Sunday. Please contact Bonnie Beyreis of Trinity Lutheran, Spencer, at 659-4006 to request a date. May-2, 9, 23 30; June-6; July 4,11; August 8.

Saint Joseph's Hospital Visitation

Due to HIPAA Privacy Rules at St. Joseph's, if you would like visits from the pastors and our lay hospital visitors when you or a loved one is hospitalized, you must identify yourself as Lutheran and say YES to the question regarding whether or not you would like clergy visits during your stay. An even better option is to phone the Church Office at 384-3535 and let them know you or a loved one is hospitalized. Please keep us informed so we can care for you!

The 2010 Census: Thank You

We would like to thank everyone who completed and mailed back their 2010 Census form. You have made an important impact on this community and the decisions that affect us all, and for that we are grateful. For those who haven't completed their form, it's not too late to participate in this easy, important and safe process. Households that do not respond may receive a replacement form in early April 2010. Census workers will visit households that do not return their form to take a count in person. Remember, the success of the 2010 Census is in our hands. For more information, visit 2010census.gov.

Soup or Socks

The Alan Shawn Feinstein Foundation will give Soup or Socks $1 for every item donated or match dollar for dollar for monetary donations. Soup or Socks has participated in this challenge every year since 1999 and it usually brings in not only food and monetary donations from our community, but $300 to $400 dollars from the foundation itself. We are asking the congregation to bring in supplies during the month of April. The week of April 511, please bring Cake Mixes; for the week of April 12-18, Dried Soup; and for the week of April 19-25, Kleenex. There will be a box in the hallway where the Soup or Sock basket is located. Thank you to everyone for their generous donations that were brought in during March..
