Goal: Provide increased opportunities for parent participation and involvement in program planning, school activities, school to home and home to school communication by two activities per school by 2006. Action Steps:

Begin updating, redesigning and developing a new web site for the school system and explore costs for maintaining. Include a parent link that contains strategies to improve homework. 10/4/2005 Professional Development Plan (Steps or Strategies) to Support Action Steps (if applicable): [from 4, 4a, 4b, & 4c] The Team who attended the Family Friendly Schools institute will disseminate the information learned and present it to the principals at Leadership Team meetings. Each principals will then conduct meetings to analyze their current parent, family, community involvement and provide staff development for teachers to increase the involvement of parents/ guardians in the educational process. Staff development opportunities will also be provided to enable educators and families to work together effectively as partners in the educational process.

Parents will provide input on each schools' annual parental engagement plans. This information will be used to improve the effectiveness of family involvement plans and activities.

The board will unofficially approve this committee list. This committee membership will change each school year.
