Specifications for Live Fire & SCBA Confined Space Training System

Vendor Qualification Requirements: a. Vendor shall submit Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA & QC) Program Manual. b. Vendor shall submit welding certificates for current employees. c. Vendor shall employ an American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector and shall submit certificate. d. Vendor shall demonstrate that upon project delivery a memo prepared by a Registered Professional Engineer (PE) will be provided to indicate that rappelling anchors are in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. General: a. The training system shall be a 3story structure; constructed with a minimum of (4) 96" X 40' steel containers with an erected rappelling tower. b. The training system shall be delivered and set up within 90 to 120 days upon project award. c. Layout drawings shall be provided by the City upon project award to coordinate location of all features/training props. d. The training system shall contain a warranty for a period of (1) one year starting from the date of project completion. e. The training system shall include two (2) days of Instructor Training Course for up to 12 people per day. The training shall be provided by a Certified Fire Instructor. f. The training system shall include an electronic version of the User's Manual. g. The training system shall provide (2) Class "A" live fire burn rooms, one on the first floor and one on the second floor. Burn rooms shall be in compliance with applicable National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards. h. The training system shall provide a SCBA reconfigurable maze in a minimum of (2) boxes and confined space training capabilities. i. The training system shall provide rope rappelling training capabilities that are in compliance with applicable OSHA standards. j. The training system shall include sufficient egress to allow for various training scenarios. k. The training system exterior shall be painted the City's choice of color and the roof system shall consist of hotdipped galvanized bar grating with hot dipped galvanized OSHA compliant safety railing and toekick. Class "A" Live Fire Burn Capabilities: a. Designated live fire burn area shall be fabricated as a secondary insulated mildsteel replaceable sleeve system. b. Designated live fire burn area shall provide the necessary system components to create various fire scenarios. c. Designated live fire burn area shall contain an insulated tube steel ventilation hatch operated by an exterior winch system. d. Designated live fire burn area shall include an electronic temperature monitoring system. e. Designated live fire burn area shall include an insulated tube steel reinforced fire window with locking hatch cover. f. Designated live fire burn area shall include insulated tube steel reinforced fire doors for egress in and out of the system.

g. Designated live fire burn area shall include a water drainage system. h. Each burn room shall have a pivoting heat baffle. SCBA Confined Space Capabilities: a. Designated SCBA confined space area shall provide a fully reconfigurable steel maze system with various specialty panels. a. Designated SCBA confined space area shall be multilevel with low crawl training capabilities. b. Designated SCBA confined space area shall include cutting, breaching, and shoring training capabilities. Rappelling Capabilities: a. Designated rappelling area shall provide negative edge, wall, window bailout, and caged ladder training capabilities. b. Anchor attachment points shall be in compliance with OSHA standards. Additional Training Features: a. 4' x 8' Wall Breach Simulator: Designed to hold 2" x 4" studs spaced at 16" on center. Simulator will allow for the placement of siding, plywood or sheetrock into the Prop for wall breach simulation exercises. b. 8' Wide x 8.5' Tall x 12' Long Vertical Pitched Roof Ventilation Prop With Enclosed Attic: The active ventilation areas will house studs and allow for placement of full 4'x 8' sheets of 5/8" plywood, siding, or a combination of other roof materials. The entire roof top will also be active (hotdipped galvanized bar grating) and contain OSHA compliant Guardrail System and toekick. A Ceiling Pull Prop to be located directly underneath the Pitched Vent. A hatchway to be incorporated into the side of the Prop for material storage. c. Interior Void Space Prop: Designed to create a live fire as would be found behind an interior wall, thus creating training for "behind the wall" fire operations. d. Interior Stair System: Interior steel stair system with handrails for roof access. e. Exterior TwoLevel Standpipe System: The Standpipe to have a Siamese FDC connection at ground level with an interior gate valve (globe valve) in the Burn Room, and additional gate valve on the roof top. f. ¾" Interior Sprinkler System: To include (2) heads and (1) ball control valve. The sprinkler line to be charged from the standpipe connection. g. (2) Door Forcible Entry Door Prop: Designed with exterior security door and interior door. The exterior door to contain (2) vertical cutting sections and (1) pry section. The interior door to contain a "sledge door" system with a multi steel layered strike zone. The entire Prop to be fabricated with reinforced heavy duty steel frame. h. Steel Panel Cutting Prop: Designed with an adjustable hinge to allow the user to insert various types of materials including roll up doors, plywood, siding and garage door panels. This Prop may also be used for piercing nozzles and serve as a double door access into the System. i. Denver Drill Window Prop: System to include a Denver Drill Training Prop. j. Flat Roof Ventilation Simulator: Designed to hold 2" x 6" studs spaced at 24" on center. This Simulator will allow for placement of siding, plywood or other roof components for ventilation/trench training exercises.

Vertical Rescue Hatch/Crawl Tube: System to contain Vertical Rescue Hatch and a Crawl Tube extending the entire height of the System. l. ¾" Diameter Conduit Lines: Conduit line for future gas line fitting/valve props (total of 2). m. Galvanized Exterior Stair System: Stair system to provide access to the first story roof. n. Signage: Aluminum Signs to be placed on each side of the System (total of 2). The sings will include Fire Dept. name and logo. o. Delivery: Quote must include training system with delivery and set up, including freight and crane service. System shall be set up on the foundation provided by the Fire Department. k.
