MARCH 2011

Colorado Springs Technology

CSTI celebrates a new chapter in the organization's history of accelerating the development and success of early stage companies as it welcomes Ric Denton as its new CEO.

CSTI Board Selects

Ric Denton as New CEO

CSTI's Board of Directors has appointed Ric Denton to serve as its Chief Executive Officer, effective April 18. Denton, former CEO of Woodside Technology Group, Televere Systems, TAU Corporation, and past Chair of SCORE, will succeed Duncan Stewart, who is stepping down as CSTI's Chief Executive to become Chairman of the Incubator's Board of Directors. "CSTI's Directors are excited to have Ric become our next CEO," said Stewart. "We wanted an accomplished leader with considerable executive experience and an exemplary track record of building successful businesses. We found the right person in Ric. He is uniquely qualified to assist new technology startups as he has walked in their shoes and knows, from first-hand experience, the critical steps to success." Denton, who holds PhD and master's degrees in physics from the University of California at Santa Barbara, brings more than 30 years of experience in launching new companies and growing them into market leaders. Denton has worked with numerous businesses and non-profit organizations, including SCORE and Bridgehead Partners (now Tatum), that provide advice, assistance and valuations to emerging entrepreneurial businesses. Previously, he was Chairman of the Board of the Bay Area Regional Technology Alliance and President of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth.
