quattro®

Mechanics and electronics innovatively combined.

The smarter way to greater dynamics: the combination of two systems has made quattro even more effective. A mechanical crown-gear centre differential seamlessly distributes power between the front and rear axles for outstanding traction. Combined with selective electronic torque vectoring, it ensures optimal power distribution between all four wheels. Both are complemented by the optional sport differential for unparalleled driving dynamics. More at: www.audi.com/quattro

Thursday, 5 May 2011

1 9.00 - approx. 18.00 hrs.: All-day Excursion "Churches and Monasteries in the Vienna Woods" including bus, lunch, guide and entrance fees. Meeting Point: 9.00 hrs. Entrance Congress Center Hofburg, Heldenplatz.

The excursion will start with a drive through the undulating Vienna Woods. These vast forested surroundings of Vienna are also an interesting area from a cultural standpoint. One of the monasteries there, Kleinmariazell, was founded in 1136 and boasts beautiful Romanesque doors. Both Kleinmariazell and Kirche am Hafnerberg (the church on Hafner hill) the next stop are popular places of pilgrimage. The interior of Kirche am Hafnerberg with its magnificent organ is an impressive example of the splendour of late baroque architecture. A brief organ concert will be performed. After lunch participants will be taken on a short drive to the Cistercian Monastery of Heiligenkreuz. The foundation of this majestic monastic complex dates back to the 12th century. Since 1802, the monastery has housed a college of theology which in 2007 was granted the status of a college of theology under Papal law. The next stop on this excursion to the Vienna Woods will be the Höldrichsmühle, an inn which looks back on a long tradition. The participants will be offered a performance of instrumental music there. According to legend, this is the place where Schubert is supposed to have composed his famous song "Am Brunnen vor dem Tore". The excursion will end at about 18.00 hrs. in front of the Congress Center Hofburg.

2 9.15 - approx. 13.00 hrs.: Half-day Tour "A Musical Walk: Mozart Beethoven Haydn" including guide and entrance fees. Meeting Point: 9.15 hrs. Entrance Congress Center Hofburg, Heldenplatz.

The participants will be welcomed by a short concert in the reception hall of the Congress Center Hofburg. Subsequently, the group will walk across Heldenplatz to the Minoritenkirche (Church of the Minorites), which houses a copy of the mosaic "The Last Supper" in its original size and where the cenotaph of Metastasio can be viewed, among other things. In this church, music of Ludwig van Beethoven will be performed. After a walk along the Graben, the participants will be taken to the oldest

13

extant concert hall in Vienna, the Sala Terrena, where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart performed concerts in his time. Here too, musicians will impress listeners with their artistry and talent. Subsequently, participants will be offered a guided tour of the sumptuous Jesuitenkirche, the baroque church of the Society of Jesus, where the last performance will be of music by Joseph Haydn. The musical tour will end at about 13.00 hrs. in front of St. Stephen's Cathedral.

2 20.30 hrs.: Wine "Heuriger" at the invitation of the Mayor of Vienna Meeting Point: 20.00 hrs. Bus Transfer to Wine "Heuriger". Departure: Heldenplatz (Congress Center Hofburg). Wine "Heuriger" Fuhrgassl-Huber, Neustift am Walde 68, A-1190 Vienna, Telephone +43/1/4401405. Please bring your invitation, handed over at the registration desk to participants who have marked point 5 of the Registration Form (No extra charge). Approx. 23.00 hrs. and 23.30 hrs. Bus Return from Wine "Heuriger" to Heldenplatz. Buses will be marked "Wiener Motorensymposium".

Friday, 6 May 2011

1 9.30 - approx. 13.00 hrs.: Half-day Tour "Vienna's National Library and the Museum of Globes" including guide and entrance fees. Meeting Point: 9.30 hrs. Entrance Congress Center Hofburg, Heldenplatz.

This tour will begin with a walk through the inner courtyards of the Hofburg Imperial Castle to Josefsplatz, one of Vienna's most beautiful squares whose uniform classicist architecture has earned it world-wide fame. After a brief visit to the Augustine church, which is located in the Eastern part of the square, the participants will be accompanied to the large stateroom of the National Library. The baroque interior of this room is characterized by the homogeneity of its design which dates back to the early 18th century. Staff members of the National Library will show selected historic documents, amongst which participants will be able to admire the book containing stage settings designed by Ludovico Ottavio Burnacini in 1667 for the baroque opera "Il pomo d'oro" by Antonio Cesti. The opera was composed on the occasion of the wedding of the Austrian Emperor Leopold I to Margarita Teresa of Spain. After a short walk to Herrengasse, an extensive tour of the Museum of Globes is the next item on the programme. Located in the former palace of an aristocratic family, this museum was established as an independent institution only in 2006. It houses more than 250 valuable globes and maps. The oldest globe, which was created by the Belgian medical doctor Gemma Frisius, dates back to 1536. The guided tour will end at about 13.00 hrs. in front of the Congress Center Hofburg.

Rocking the Hybrid. The Touareg.

Those wanting a low-consumption, low-emission vehicle all too often had to forgo real driving pleasure in the past. In the development of hybrid* technology for the Touareg it was our aim therefore to create a power train that is as fascinating as it is reducing CO2 emission and fuel consumption. The feel of this groundbreaking combination of the power of a V6 TSI engine and the efficiency of an electric engine is something you should definitely experience at first hand.

*Official fuel consumption for the Touareg Hybrid, 245 kW (333 HP) and 34.3 kW (46 HP) in litres/ 100 km: urban 8.7; extra-urban 7.9; combined 8.2. CO2 emissions 193 g/km. Pursuant to Directive 199/100/EC, depending on manner of driving, as well as road and traffic conditions. Illustration includes optional extras at additional cost.
