Aquatics Swimming Lessons

Everyone should learn to swim. Our Parent/Child program starts as early as 6 months old and we'll teach anyone at any age who wants to learn swim or improve their strokes and technique. Classes are offered by sessions and lessons run during the week. Swim classes are 45 minutes except for Parent/Child classes which are 30 minutes. Registration is at the courtesy desk where you can pick up a current swim schedule and parent handbook.

Arthritis Aquatic Exercise

This is for people with arthritis and/or other physical problems with limited movements. It emphasizes good body mechanics, allowing joints to function again and helps to reduce the effort required to do activities. Please pick up a current schedule at the Y's courtesy counter before beginning the class.

YOUR YMCA When is the Y Open?

Monday--Friday 5:00 a.m. -- 10:00 p.m. Saturday 8:00 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m. Sunday 11:00 a.m. -- 6:00 p.m. All activities stop 30 minutes prior to closing and the doors are closed.

YMCA Membership

Membership fees include use of YMCA facilities, courts, pools, weight training center, saunas, teen center, etc. Some areas are restricted to certain ages. Special programs where an outside leadership group/trainer is needed or when the purchase of special equipment and supplies are necessary there may be an additional but minimal fee required. (example: swimming lessons, youth sports, etc.) Membership applications may be obtained at the YMCA courtesy counter or through the membership office. We offer monthly bank draft withdrawal or annual memberships. Bank Draft is a process where your dues are automatically withdrawn from your checking or some savings accounts.

Adult Swim Lessons

No more than six participants to each instructor. Classes are arranged by skill level: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Contact the Y courtesy counter for a current time schedule.

Holiday Closing Dates

New Year's Day (early closure New Year's Eve) Easter Sunday Labor Day Memorial Day Thanksgiving Independence Day (July 4th) Christmas Day (early closure Christmas Eve)

YMCA Marlins Swim Team

The YMCA Marlins Swim team is a super activity for kids 5-18 years old. It is a great opportunity for kids to develop excellent swimming skills. Coach Jodi Girard emphasizes good self-esteem and goal setting. Practice is Monday through Friday. Interested children receive two trial practices free of charge. Check with the courtesy desk for fee and times.

Open and Lap Swims

Open, Family, and Lap swim are available.. Please pick up a current schedule at the Y's courtesy counter.

Joiner Fee

All new full members must pay a one-time Joiner fee with the initial payment. The purpose of the joiner fee is to establish a building improvement and equipment fund. Members renewing after a lapse of 30 days must pay the joiner fee as they are considered NEW members.

Financial Support

The YMCA offers partial or full scholarships for memberships and program activities. See membership office, located at the courtesy desk, for more information.

Youth and Family Babysitting Services

Babysitting is available for children walking age to six years at a reasonable cost for YMCA members while they are participating in YMCA activities. Members may purchase punch cards at the courtesy counter or pay directly each time. Babysitting is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

AWAY Program

"Always Welcome at YMCAs"...Members who travel or relocate may utilize other YMCA facilities at little or no cost with a current YMCA membership. You may call 1-888-333-9622 and give the zip code of where you are going to find a YMCA near where you will be visiting.

Water Fitness

Water fitness adds variety to your fitness program with water aerobics. It is an ideal form of exercise for all ages and increases physical strength and endurance. Pick up a current class schedule at the Y's courtesy counter.

Youth Policy

Youth 15 and under cannot be left without a parent or guardian supervision at the YMCA for more than 2½ hours and must have vacated the building by 8:00 p.m. unless they are involved in a structured activity or program. NOTE: During school hours school age children will not be permitted in the building unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Check all Valuables!

We do not encourage bringing valuables to the YMCA. In the event you do, you can check them at the courtesy desk at no cost or check out a lock for your locker at not cost to you.

Multiple Sclerosis Class

This class is specifically designed for a person with multiple sclerosis or person who wants a low impact class.

Guest Passes

Each member may bring in one guest per visit, however each guest is limited to 5 visits. Guest must be accompanied by a member and are entitled to the same privileges as the member. All guests must sign in and show picture identification.

Rehabilitation Swim

Rehabilitation swim is where you do your own exercise routine in the activities pool. This time is set aside for aquatic exercise, without an instructor. Great for continuing therapy. Pick up a current class schedule at the courtesy counter.

Youth and Teen Center

For kids 6 years old through 12th grade. Teen Center is a place to do homework, play games, socialize, computers or just a place to hang out. This area is staffed when open. Check with the courtesy counter for days and times.

Youth & Family Tumbleweeds Preschool

This program provides children ages 3 to 5 with activities that help them grow mentally, socially, emotionally, and physically. We encourage and welcome your involvement as a volunteer and will work as partners with you to help your child progress. Children are exposed to art projects, table toys, science activities, pre-reading and writing skills, swimming, gym activities, dance, music, stories, dramatic play, computers and field trips. Classes are limited, so please check with the courtesy desk for availability.

YMCA's 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament In the spirit of competition and

basketball we endeavor to provide a fun and positive environment for all ages wanting to play hoops. Games are played in the YMCA parking lot and if necessary, our indoor gymnasiums. Adverse weather conditions and unplayable situations may result in modification or cancellation. Three games guaranteed. Standard half court games will be played to 15 points or a 20 minute time limit, win by 1 point. Divisions for boys and girls grades 5th--12th, Open and Wheelchair. Registration is in May. Open is for 16 year and older. Please check with the YMCA's courtesy counter for current dates and times.

Come join a game. The gym is open for pickup basketball three days a week. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for those 18 and older.

Members can reserve courts by the hour up to 96 hours in advance. Contact the courtesy desk to reserve your court. Racquets are available to use at the courtesy desk. Wallyball nets and balls are available at the courtesy desk free of charge. - Fitness Class Descriptions:


Step I--Class consists of more repetitions of basic step move and moderate combinations. Step II--Moderate to complex combinations, for the experienced stepper. Interval Training--Is a high energy class that combines the use of step and traditional aerobics. This cardio class alternates the use of high and low intensity movement. Kickboxing: An aerobic workout incorporating kick boxing/martial arts moves. Exercise intensity is moderate to high. Active Older Adults--Challenging exercise class for the 40+. Incorporates low impact and basic step, in addition to floor work for improvement of muscular endurance and stretching. SilverSneakers I --This class helps participants to perform daily tasks. Chairs are used for seated and standing support. Designed to improve muscular strength, endurance, flexibility, agility, balance, and hand-eye coordination. Senior Cardio: A low-impact aerobic workout using basic rhythmic movements. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing & balls are used for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and standing support. All aerobic classes will include muscle strengthening and stretching work at the end of cardio. Pick up a schedule for days and times of classes at the courtesy desk.

Summer Day Camp

Remember camp as a youth? For well over a century, YMCA camps around the country have been creating memories for children that truly last a lifetime! YMCA camps have helped thousands of Y campers have fun, make new friends, learn to appreciate the environment, develop leadership skills, and to grow as a person in a unique outdoor life setting. Day camp has all the benefits of summer camp and you still get to go home every night. Camper groups are separated into two categories: 6-9 year olds and 10-13 year olds. Check with the courtesy desk for a brochure and session dates. Usually from end of June through August depending on when school stops and starts.

Fitness Center Massage Therapy

Soothe those aching muscles with a massage from our talented therapist. Licensed massage practitioner Dee Bandy offers Swedish and Sahiatsu styles of massage. Contact the courtesy desk for fees and to schedule an appointment. Train one-on-one with a certified YMCA personal trainer. A trainer will design a persona program specific to your goals and needs and develop you a persona program based on: Your current fitness level, personal goals and objectives, personal limitations. Workout consists of: Strength training, Cardiovascular training. Ask the courtesy desk or weight room staff for details.

Youth Sports

Boys and girls will participate in organized basketball, indoor soccer, preschool T-ball programs which stress the importance of fair play and teamwork while teaching the skills and rules of each sport. Check with the YMCA courtesy desk for detailed information on each season which are generally played in the fall and winter. T-ball is played in the spring.

Weight Center Adult Weight Room Orientation

Enough to keep your interest, but not to much to overwhelm you. A weight room supervisor will get you started on a basic program with some cardiovascular, strength, and flexibility training. To reserve your spot for an orientation come in or call (360) 423-4770.

Basketball School with Roosevelt Smith Jr. Develop your fundamental skills in shooting, footwork, dribbling, passing, screens, and free throws. You will also play 3 on 3 to work on the pick and roll. Emphasis is placed on teamwork. All participants will receive a T-shirt and their own basketball. This program is run during the month of July for boys and girls grades 1-12. Be sure to check with the Y's courtesy counter about dates and registration deadlines.

Special Events

Get Ready, Get Set, Get F.I.T. held 3 times a year. The Annual Lazyman Triathlon held in September. Complete the distance of an actual Ironman Triathlon only you have 6 weeks to do it.
