Workshop Venue:

The Workshop will be hosted at the Royal Myconian Hotel on Mykonos Island, Greece ( Mykonos can be reached by plane or by ferry. There are many direct flights from most of the European countries to the International Airport of Mykonos (JMK) during the summer season. There are also many flights per day from Athens International Airport "El. Venizelos" to Mykonos Airport. There are also many ferries travelling from Piraeus or Rafina Port to Mykonos. The trip depending the type of the ferry takes 2 ­ 6 hours. From Piraeus you can board the Blue Star, Hellenic Sea Ways and Aegean Speed Lines. Alternatively you can get a boat from Rafina with the following shipping companies: Blue Star, Hellenic Saw Ways, Cyclades Fast Ferries and Sea Jets. Public transports are well organized and consistent, but if you want to avoid overcrowding you can hire either a motorbike or a car. Scope and topic:

The 4th International Workshop of the European Association of Remote Sensing Laboratories (EARSeL) Special Interest Group "Geological Applications" will take place in Mykonos Island, Greece, on May 24th and 25th 2012 in conjunction with the 32nd EARSEL Symposium. The 2012 workshop in Mykonos is the fourth in a series of workshops organized by the EARSeL SIG during the last years. Previous workshops were held in Warsaw (2006), Bosen (2007) and Istanbul (2008). More information about the previous workshops can be found in the SIG website. The main subject of the workshop will be the use of remote sensing in Geology. Paper contributions are expected to focus on RS and GIS applications on:

The first day of the workshop will be dedicated to scientific presentations (oral and posters). The second day of the workshop will include presentations and two tutorials. More information about the tutorial sessions (themes, necessary equipment, number of participants) will be announced in the third circular. Full texts of all the presentations (oral and posters) will be included in the Proceedings CD of the workshop. Selected papers presented during the workshop will be included in a special issue after peer review process.
