ABOUT: Disney Publishing Worldwide (DPW) is the world's largest publisher of children's books and magazines. DPW's legacy began with the introduction of the first Disney comic strip in 1930. Walt Disney felt print would enhance the Disney movie experience, while also allowing the introduction of characters to those who had yet to see certain films. Today, DPW is a vibrant, global business that develops original, award-winning content (both Disney and non-Disney branded). In addition, it maintains licensing relationships with top publishing companies worldwide and has become a leader in English language learning content that enables children to learn through learning Centers, serial reference books, and multimedia materials.

Global Magazines:

Disney Publishing Worldwide is the #1 publisher of children's magazines, with approximately 250 regular titles in 72 countries through over 60 licensees. Disney's Standard Characters titles are by far the most popular children's titles in the world, present in over 60 countries, with around 109 million copies sold in 2010. Weeklies represent 75% of the Standard Character portfolio with over 80 million copies sold in 40 countries. In the Scandinavian countries, Donald Duck is a star; four out of five Finnish children read Aku Ankka magazine. Disney Princess magazine is available in 64 countries, with approximately 13 million sold in 2010. Winnie the Pooh magazine is available in 60 countries, with 7.2 million copies sold in 2010. Cars magazine continues to perform very well across 64 countries with over 11 million copies sold. Hannah Montana magazine is currently available in 54 territories with 4.3 million copies sold. Under the Disney Fairies brand, Tinker Bell magazine is sold in 40 countries worldwide. Playhouse Disney magazine, launched in 2008, is available in 40 countries, engaging preschool-age children in an interactive and playful learning manner. A trusted source for moms, Disney FamilyFun, delivers real ideas for real families throughout the United States. Targeting parents with children

under 12 years old, it maintains a rate base of 2.1 million and a total audience of 5.4 million (Source: 2010 Spring MRI). Disney FamilyFun was selected by the Parents' Choice Foundation as a 2010 Parents' Choice Recommended Award winner. This magazine is published 10 times per year. Global Partworks & Add-on Sales Disney Vintage Story in Spain is a collection of shaped books with a vintage version of Disney's classic fairy tales, and Princess tea set. The Fairy Tales series is continuing to rollout in 12 countries, including emerging markets. In 2010, De Agostini launched the product in Ukraine, Slovakia, and Portugal. DPW's encyclopedia Wonderful World of Knowledge is available in Russia and Europe.

Global Books:

DPW produces books for children globally through Disney Book Group and its vertically integrated publishing imprints in the U.S.: Disney Editions, Disney - Hyperion, Disney-Jump at the Sun, and Disney Press, as well as in Italy and Spain with Disney Libri. DPW also publishes books through licensing relationships with major publishing companies around the globe. Disney Book Group Includes a diverse stable of award-winning and best-selling authors and illustrators, including Eoin Colfer, Rick Riordan, Ridley Pearson, Dave Barry, Ally Carter, and Melissa de la Cruz. Disney Book Group also enjoys a reputation for finding new talent, including Jonathan Stroud, Sharon G. Flake, and Mo Willems. Digital Media:

Disney Publishing is a leader in digital publishing with an extensive line of interactive products. Disney Digital Books Introduces readers to over 600--and growing--interactive Disney books for all ages, reading levels, and interests, full of features that support and enhance the reading experience. It was voted the Best Kid's Website by About.com. Disney Digital Book Apps are approaching one million downloads with ten apps launched in 2010. The Toy Story Apps are consistently in the top 50 iPad apps in all categories, while remaining in the top 10 paid book apps in the U.S., and top 5 book apps in over 41 countries. Winnie the Pooh: What's a Bear to Do? and Mickey's Spooky Night app are top 5 in more than 50 countries. In many countries, including the U.S., DPW holds the #1 and #2 spot for iPhone and iPad among children's and adult book apps. Rick Riordan's first book in the Heroes of Olympus series, The Lost Hero, debuted at number one for eBook titles on Amazon Kindle, Apple's iBookstore, Barnes and Noble's Nook, and SONY Reader. In December 2010, DPW announced the debut of beautifully illustrated books from Tron, Toy Story, Cars and other favorites on Apple's iBookstore. The picture books are priced from $2.99 - $9.99 at the iBookstore and are available for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. The Princess Dress-Up App is now available for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, allowing girls of all ages to dress up their favorite Disney Princesses. Children can cruise through Radiator Springs with the original Cars Puzzle Book app with challenging puzzles and sticker decals all along the way. Disney Digicomics

Launched in December 2009, Disney Digicomics provides beloved Disney comics on iPhones, iPads, cell phones, portable handheld devices, online, and even on video game consoles. Disney Epic Mickey app launched in October 2010: it includes 6 Tales of Wasteland Digicomics, a prequel to the Disney Epic Mickey videogame storyline, a map of Wasteland, the trailer of the videogame and the character files. It is the first time that DPW created original comics for digital. In the near future, other Disney franchises, including Tron, will be released as motion comics on different devices and digital marketplaces.

Disney English:

Disney English has developed world-class English language learning products and services for children in China since 2008. With 15 schools open in Beijing and Shanghai, Disney English will begin to expand into tier two cities in 2011. At Disney English, kids aged two through ten are immersed in the joy of English through a world-class curriculum, timeless stories, and inspiring songs. Inside our themed environments, interactive content is blended with innovative technology, transporting children into an engaging world where learning is fun and exciting. Working with an independent advisory board, comprised of a team of world-class experts in English language learning and childhood development, the Disney English program has been tailor-made for China. The advisory board includes such experts as Dr. Jun Liu, the former President of TESOL and current Head of the English Department at the University of Arizona, and Dr. Renee Cherow-O'leary, Professor, English Education, Teachers College, Columbia University, ensuring that the programs utilize the best training methods.
