elcome to Mexico, an exciting, vibrant holiday destination brimming with culture, beauty and attractions.

One of the country's highlights is its brilliant stretch of coastline close to 10,000 kilometres of white sand dotted with famous resorts. Start with a trip to the Yucatan Peninsula and Cancun, home to luxurious accommodation, a vibrant nightlife and great shopping. From Cancun, resorts line the southern coast along the Riviera Maya, from charming Playa del Carmen, to the striking beachside ruins of Tulum. For a more relaxed and secluded setting, venture to an offshore island: enjoy the intimate Caribbean vibe of Isla Mujeres off the coast of Cancun, or renowned scuba diving on Cozumel, 45 minutes from Playa del Carmen. The Mexican Riviera faces the Pacific Ocean on the west coast, with a string of resort towns offering golden beaches, incredible scenery, shopping, dining, festivals and rich, cultural traditions. Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo all offer something special, making them popular ports of call on cruises. Adjacent towns and villages range from glitzy Acapulco, the `Queen of Mexican Beach Resorts', to laid-back Manzanillo. At the tip of the Baja California Peninsula is Los Cabos; a once-sleepy village that is now Mexico's most fashionable resort area and premier golfing destination. Break away from Mexico's beaches for an inland adventure of exciting cities and cultural delights. Mexico City reflects 3000 years of history, and offers one of the most fascinating glimpses into local life. Embrace the provincial flavour and traditions of Guadalajara, its pleasant, year-round climate earning it a reputation as the `City of Eternal Spring'. Fetchingly frozen in time, friendly Oaxaca retains the character of the `real' Mexico, or take a tour of the capital of the Yucatan, Merida, with its belle epoque architecture and proximity to the famous Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza.

Mexico Navy Day, Puebla Celebrated in the Mexican ports, traditional singing and dancing festivities commemorate the famous Battle of Puebla.

July

Guelaguetza, Oaxaca Celebrating rain and bountiful harvests with traditional song and dance.

august

Cuauhtemoc Day, Mexico City Lively celebrations honouring the Aztec emperor who led the Mexican resistance.

september

Independence Day, Mexico City The city erupts with street parties and fireworks celebrating Mexico's independence.

OctOber

National Mole Fair, San Pedro Atocpan Celebrating the chilli and chocolate sauce that is a staple of many Mexican meals.

nOvember

Day of the Dead, Mexico City Honouring the departed with traditions that closely resemble those of Halloween.

december

Festival of the Radishes, Oaxaca Radish sculptures, live music and traditional dancing.

Mexico is a haven of ancient pyramids and ruins constructed by advanced civilisations, such as the Mayans and Aztecs, dating back as far as 3000 years ago. The Mayan city of Chichen Itza is one of the most famous of these ruins and well worth a visit. Enjoy a stroll up the 365 steps of the El Castillo pyramid, take in the Temple of the Skulls, a sacrificial platform, and see the Sacred Cenote, a sinkhole where sacrificial victims where thrown. Palenque is one of the most picturesque ruins, perched on a ridge in the jungle-covered mountains in south Mexico. More than 200 structures, including the Temple of the Inscriptions and The Crypt, make up one of the most fascinating Mayan archaeological sites.

ear yourself away from Mexico's golden-sand beaches and discover the other half of what makes this nation tick: from the ancient ruins of Chichen Itza and the handsome colonial mansions of Merida in the Yucatan, to the authentic charm of Aztec Oaxaca, tequila and mariachi music in Guadalajara and the fast pace of immense Mexico City. Exciting adventures into Mexico's cultural past and present await ...

T

TravEllErS' SECrETS

HISTOry aNd CulTurE

Beyond the beaches, discover Mexico's past and present on a guided tour or exploring on your own. The capital of the Yucatan, Merida showcases handsome colonial mansions and Belle Epoque architecture. To the west, there's Oaxaca, founded by the Aztecs, conquered by the Spanish, today a taste of Mexico at its most genuine. For something a bit more fast-paced, there's Mexico City, the largest city in the world, and Guadalajara, the birthplace of tequila and mariachi music.

This fascinating setting reflects the 3000 years of history that make this city both an ever-evolving modern metropolis and a living museum.

HaCIENda STay

For something a little off the beaten track, why not try a traditional hacienda stay. These bed and breakfast-style homes have been restored to luxurious accommodation and will provide an intimate experience. The food is an additional treat, made from locally grown produce with an authentic Mexican flavour. A hacienda stay will transport you back in time and provide something a little different on your Mexican holiday.

WHErE mOdErN mEETS aNCIENT

Surrounded by the mountains of a highland valley is Mexico City, one of the largest cities in the world, the oldest capital in the West, and the cultural, political and economic centre of Mexico. Though its vast size and crowds can be overwhelming at times, Mexico City yields one of the most fascinating glimpses into Mexican life. Modern and ancient worlds collide in a striking contrast of skyscrapers standing beside Aztec ruins, interspersed with colonial architecture unfolding along broad boulevards and graceful plazas.

THE ruINS OF CHICHEN ITza

The Yucatan holds the richest collection of Mayan archeological sites in Mexico, and Chichen Itza is considered the grandest of them all. Built in prehistoric times, the city stands in a fantastic setting where bright blue skies contrast with green jungles fed by underground rivers and natural wells. Chichen Itza was once the capital of the Mayan Empire and its majestic temples still stand tall. It is easily reached from the resort areas of Cancun, Riviera Maya, and Merida.

A small hacienda located near the western coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. This former nobleman's private estate features ornately furnished gardens and evening campfires.

Located in the northern Yucatan Peninsula, this historical plantation house is close to the Chichen Itza archaeological site, and exudes an atmosphere of the past.

This boutique hotel began life as an 18th-century hacienda; later, the site of large-scale sisal production (a natural fibre used in textiles).

TERMS & CONDITIONS

References to "us", "we", "our" and/or "Escape Holidays" in these booking terms and conditions shall mean and include Flight Centre (NZ) Limited trading as Escape Holidays and its related entities and affiliates.

NOT INCLUDED IN PRICE OF HOLIDAY:

Escape Holidays and associated representatives overseas will not accept responsibility, nor approve requests to pay for, additional charges for extra services requested by you and not included in the basic prices stated in this brochure. The cost of anything not specifically noted as being included in the holiday package is at your expense.

Please carefully read the following conditions as they form the basis for acceptance of all bookings. TO BOOK: Select the holiday of your choice and then consult your travel consultant, who will make the reservation request with Escape Holidays. All reservation requests are subject to availability at the time of booking. Any verbal, written or electronic quote is an estimate only and can only be confirmed when the reservation is confirmed and the deposit is received. When a booking is made, the person effecting the booking is deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions on behalf of all people named in the booking. The contract will be governed by, and subject to, these terms and conditions. No variations to these terms and conditions will be of any effect unless made in writing and with the authority of Escape Holidays. All communications from us will be sent to your travel consultant. MONIES NOT HELD ON TRUST: All monies paid by you to us

will be the property of Escape Holidays and will be a debt due and payable to the travel service provider once the services to which the money relates have been provided. You agree and acknowledge that such monies will not be held by Escape Holidays on trust for and on behalf of you and Escape Holidays may hold such monies in any account as it sees fit, including with its own and/or other customer monies.

PRICES AND ITINERARY CHANGES (1) The prices in this brochure are current as at the time it was

submitted to print, being 04 April 2011. The prices are based on currency exchange rates effective 01 March 2011. Prices are in New Zealand dollars unless otherwise indicated.

requirements of immigration and other government authorities, such responsibility may have include additional restrictions, requirements or be invalided if you have any criminal convictions and/or contagious diseases. If your passport is damaged, does not have sufficient pages for any required visas and/or entry stamps gained en route, is not machine readable or not valid for at least 6 months from the date of return you may not be able to travel. Any loss, fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities will be your sole responsibility. All travellers must have a valid passport for international travel.

(2) While Escape Holidays has exercised reasonable care and skill to

ensure that the contents of this brochure are correct, accurate and up-to-date at the time of printing, please note that the contents of this brochure are based on information supplied to us by third party travel service providers and suppliers and we do not have, and cannot be reasonably expected to have, personal knowledge about all of the facilities or services provided by each provider/supplier; and facilities or services may change after the date of printing. As considerable information is provided by product or service providers and suppliers, Escape Holidays is unable to warrant or guarantee the accuracy, adequacy or completeness of all of the information contained in this brochure, and will not be liable for any errors or omissions in this brochure, or for any disruption caused by hotel renovations. If any feature is of critical importance to your holiday, it is your responsibility to ask Escape Holidays to check whether such feature will be available at the time of occupancy at the given hotel. Prior to making a booking, you should ask your travel consultant to confirm whether there are any changes to the published information of which they may be aware. You should also make sure that if Escape Holidays is advised of changes that occur after booking, your travel consultant can contact you. All terms implied by law, except those which can not be lawfully excluded, are excluded.

Escape Holidays gives no warranty that your passport/visa will meet the entry requirements of a particular country. You should reconfirm all visa & entry requirements with the relevant embassy prior to departure as entry requirements may change. TRAVEL ADVICE: Escape Holidays makes no representations as to

the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. For travel advice, please contact the New Zealand Government's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade or visit their website at www. safetravel.govt.nz.

LATE BOOKINGS: Bookings made within seven days of departure

will only be accepted if full payment is received by Escape Holidays at the time of reservation.

DEPOSITS AND FINAL PAYMENTS: A non-refundable deposit of $150 per person is payable within seven days of confirmation of your reservation. Certain products may require a deposit of up to $2000 per person, payable within seven days of confirmation of your reservation. You will be notified at the time of your reservation if any additional requirements apply. If, for any reason, Escape Holidays does not receive the deposit or your balance by the due date, we reserve the right to treat your booking as cancelled and to apply the appropriate cancellation charges. Full payment of your holiday package must be received by Escape Holidays from your travel consultant normally not less than 30 days before your departure from New Zealand. Full payment for certain products is required at least 100 days before departure. This will be advised at confirmation of your reservation. The price of your holiday may change at any time until the full payment is received and airline tickets are issued. If we have to change any part of your booking for reasons beyond our control, for example if an airline changes its schedules, if a hotelier overbooks hotel accommodation or if there are any changes in applicable taxes or charges, we will notify you. If any such changes result in your holiday costing more or otherwise being materially different from that originally booked, then you may cancel the holiday and we will refund any monies already paid, less any charges levied by suppliers. CREDIT CARD TRANSACTIONS: The prices shown are for payment by cash and eftpos only. A credit card surcharge may apply when paying your travel consultant by credit card. If for any reason any travel service provider is unable to provide the services for which you have contracted, your remedy lies against that provider, and not against Escape Holidays. In the event that payment has been made to us by credit card, you agree that you will not seek to charge back your payment to Escape Holidays. CANCELLATION CHARGES: 1) Land Arrangements (a) Bookings cancelled at any time after reservation confirmation

are subject to the forfeiture of any deposit paid to Escape Holidays, including any additional deposits required by suppliers.

(3) Special offers can be withdrawn by Escape Holidays at any time

up to receipt of final payment.

(4) Please note that prices quoted are subject to change. This may

occur due to matters outside our control which increase the cost of the product or service. Such factors include adverse currency fluctuations, fuel surcharges, taxes and airfare increases. Please contact your travel consultant for up-to-date prices. We guarantee that no surcharges in respect of cost or currency deterioration will be made once full payment for your arrangements has been received. In exchange for this guarantee, no refund will be made if costs are reduced. This guarantee does not apply to any taxes, charges or levies imposed by any government or their agencies, or to errors or omissions. The entire range of products featured in this brochure is offered at the prices shown on each page, but prices printed do not imply that similar product may or may not be available at a lower price if obtained online direct. Itineraries are subject to alteration if airline schedules are amended, a tour is cancelled by the operator for whatever reason, or other conditions require it. In the event that Escape Holidays has to cancel your booking because of insufficient numbers booked or because of events outside our control, we will, if possible, offer you an alternative tour or arrangements of a similar standard. If you do not accept the alternative, we will refund in full any monies already paid for that particular tour or arrangement.

AGENCY: Escape Holidays provides the service of selling holidays/ tours and ancillary services such as bookings, arrangements and ticketing as agent. Escape Holidays does not itself provide the transport, accommodation, meals or other facilities described in this brochure (collectively the `services') that may be received by any person taking advantage thereof. Such services are provided by airlines, land carriers, cruise operators, hoteliers or other travel service providers for whom Escape Holidays also acts as agent. Escape Holidays' obligation is to make travel bookings on your behalf and to arrange relevant contracts between you and the travel service providers. All coupons, exchange orders, contracts, tickets or vouchers issued by Escape Holidays (collectively `vouchers') are issued subject to all tariffs, terms and conditions contained in the contracts in use by the travel service providers when used, and constitute the sole contract between the travel service provider and any person taking advantage of such providers' services. It is therefore important for you to obtain and read the travel service providers' terms and conditions applicable to the products in your package. Also, you should make sure you are aware of any exclusions or limitations of liability imposed by the travel service providers, some of which may limit or exclude liability in respect to death, personal injury, delay and loss, or damage to property, including baggage.

Escape Holidays has no responsibility for the products or services provided by the travel service providers, nor does it make or give any warranty or representation regarding their standard. All bookings are made subject to the terms and conditions, and limitations of liability imposed by these travel service providers. Your legal recourse is against the specific provider and not Escape Holidays. If, for any reason, any travel service provider is unable to provide the services for which you have contracted, your remedy lies against the travel service provider and not with Escape Holidays. Acceptance of such contracts constitutes acceptance of the foregoing.

ROOM TYPES AND BEDDING GUIDE: Prices in this brochure are based on existing bedding. Additional bedding may be a bed, a fold-up `rollaway' or a convertible settee, and depends upon the hotel. Please note: Triple share generally refers to three people sharing a room but NOT the provision of three separate beds. Hotel rooms are confirmed upon arrival and are at the hotel's discretion unless otherwise stated. Particular room requests (eg interconnecting, twin vs double bedding, non-smoking rooms etc) can be requested, but are not guaranteed and are subject to availability on arrival. BROCHURE CONTENT: Route maps and photographic

illustrations are for general purposes only and are not intended to indicate the exact route, facility, service or hotel, which may vary. Hotel locations on maps are a guide only, as maps are not to scale. Hotel ratings are those suggested by relevant local authorities or our representative, and may vary from Tourist Office ratings.

(b) In addition, cancelled bookings may incur charges from the hotel, tour operator, cruise line or other travel service provider, and these charges can be up to 100% of total land arrangement costs, particularly when cancelling tours and other arrangements within 60 days of departure. Some travel service provider cancellation charges may also incur GST. You should check what additional cancellation fees apply (if any) BEFORE cancelling your holiday. 2) Airfares/Cruise

A cancellation charge of up to 100% may be applied, depending on the travel conditions of the airfare/cruise.

LIABILITY: To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability of whatever nature, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, for the acts, omissions or default, whether negligent or otherwise, of third party travel service providers over whom we have no direct control. We also exclude all liability in respect of any loss or damage whatsoever (including, but not limited to, physical and psychological injury and loss or damage to property of whatever nature) that may arise in any way in connection with the offer or supply of products or services through Escape Holidays or any third parties. Under circumstances where liability cannot be excluded, such liability is limited to the value of the purchased travel arrangements. We do not accept any liability in contract, tort or otherwise for any injury, damage, loss (including consequential loss), delay, additional expense or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by force majeure or any other event that is beyond our control, which is not preventable by reasonable diligence on our part. ENTIRE AGREEMENT: The terms and conditions contained in this

brochure constitute the entire agreement between you and Escape Holidays.

BAGGAGE: Carriers publish baggage allowances applicable for

carriage on their own services. Allowances include cabin baggage and checked baggage. These allowances tend to be based on a weight allowance or a piece system. We recommend you check your baggage allowance carefully, as you may incur a charge for the carriage of baggage in excess of their free baggage allowance. Carriers also publish baggage safety notices, which detail items that cannot be carried, or can only be carried in checked baggage. Again, we recommend you ask your chosen carrier about the applicable baggage safety requirements.

PRIVACY POLICY: Escape Holidays is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of personal information. Please ask your travel consultant for details of our privacy policy. CONSUMER CLAIMS: In the unlikely event you might experience a problem, you should immediately contact the company responsible for the provision of the relevant service (transfer/hotel/tour or other travel service provider), whose number will be printed on your voucher or other travel documents. If you are not satisfied with the response received from that travel service provider and you wish to make a claim, your claim should be made in writing to the travel consultant who made your booking no later than 30 days after your return to New Zealand. Escape Holidays cannot be held responsible for delays or rejection of claims by travel service providers if your claim is not made promptly. GOVERNING LAW: If any dispute arises in relation to the agreement between you and us as constituted by these terms and conditions or otherwise, the laws of New Zealand will apply. You irrevocably and unconditionally submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand and waive any right that you may have to object to an action being brought in those courts.

Any claim or legal action against a travel service provider is likely to be subject to the terms of your contract with them, and may be governed by the laws of other countries.

AMENDMENTS: Subject to our pricing, cancellation and refund

policies Escape Holidays is happy to incorporate any reasonable amendments you request. An amendment is a change to an existing booking with the same inclusions and will attract a fee of $25 per amendment to cover administration fees and communication costs. This fee will increase to $50 if travel documents have already been issued. You may also be required to pay any supplier-imposed fees. A transfer to another package may be treated as a cancellation and supplier cancellation fees or penalties may apply.

PRE-DEPARTURE CONTACT: Please advise your travel

consultant of a telephone number or address where you can be reached within 24 hours prior to your departure from New Zealand.

REFUNDS: To the extent permitted by law, no refund is available for

cancellations after travel has commenced or in respect of any tours, accommodation, meals or any other services not utilised. Requests for refunds received more than six months after the departure date for travel will not be accepted. Credit vouchers cannot be refunded or taken as cash.

GENERAL INFORMATION: HEALTH: It is your responsibility

to ensure you are aware of any health requirements for your travel destinations and to ensure that you carry all necessary vaccination documentation.

TRAVEL INSURANCE: Travel insurance is strongly recommended

by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade for all overseas travel. Your travel consultant can provide information to you about travel insurance.

LOST OR DESTROYED VOUCHERS: Lost or destroyed

vouchers may not be able to be replaced or refunded for any accommodation plans, rail, transport, museum, exhibit and sightseeing tickets. Replacement fees may apply.
