Nonincendive Field Wiring and Associated Apparatus Class I & II, Division 2

Conduit/Cabling: · General purpose cable Connections: · General purpose connectors · Quick connectors without limitation Field Instrument Components: · Drop connectors limit voltage and current into spur · Field instruments must be nonincendive field wiring apparatus rated with published parameters (Ci, Li, Vmax, I max) · Drop Connector and Field Instrument parameters must be coordinated as follows: Drop Connector Field Instrument Voc < Vmax Isc < Imax · Field instrument Ci and Li must be lower than values determined from ignition curves using 0.9 safety factor (Ci & Li for drop cable is negligible with length under 20m) Special Notes: · Intrinsically safe apparatus may also be used as nonincendive field wiring apparatus · Instrument wiring may be manipulated while energized
