STEP 3 : LOCK YOUR SEAGATE GOFLEX SATELLITE WIRELESS SSID AND PASSWORD

As we will be removing the standard interface of the Seagate GoFlex in Step 4. You will not be able to set your Wireless SSID via the GUI Interface. This method teaches you on how to get it done via the settings in CLI. CONNECT VIA SSH TO YOUR GOFLEX SATELLITE Connect via SSH session to "192.168.0.1". Password is "goflex" ssh 192.168.0.1 ­l root NAVIGATE TO THE RC5 DIRECTORY Go to the rc5.d folder in home. cd /etc/rc5.d/ MODIFICATION OF THE WIFI SETTINGS Edit the file start_server_wifi file using the editor of your choice. In this example, we use vi. vi start_server_wifi Comment out the original settings (Just in case you want to revert it back) Add a "#" in front line 2 that reads "/satellite_app/www/satellite/settings_bin/WifiManager ­i" Add a new line after you have commented out the original

/satellite_app/www/satellite/settings_bin/WifiManager ­s YourSSID ­p YourPassword

Save and exit.

**IMPORTANT : YOUR PASSWORD MUST BE 10 CHARACTERS OR MORE

CONGRATULATIONS. YOU HAVE JUST MODIFIED THE WIFI SETTINGS FOR YOUR SEAGATE GOFLEX SATELLITE! FINAL TEST. Reboot(Turn off and On again) your Seagate GoFlex Satellite and try to see if you are able to join the new WiFi Network that you have just created.
