Motor

Coolant air/water

Armature (Inside motor) suspended with 2 bearings

Brush versus brushless A brush type motor has carbon brushes which contact and provide electricity to the armature. The brushes wear over time create a dust which can damage the bearings and the armature. The brushes must be replaced routinely and none of the brush type motors can be sterilized. Repair information A brushless motor does not have the problems with the brushes therefore they last longer. The only wear parts on a brushless motor are the bearings which suspend the armature. Some of the brushless motors can be sterilized. Overall, the electric motors will require very little maintenance or repair.

Attachments

Transmission/Use/RPM 1:1--Selective decay 1,000 to 40,000 RPM 16:1--Endo Less than 500 RPM

1:1--Out of mouth 1,000 to 40,000 RPM 1:5--Highspeed work 5,000 to 200,000 RPM Electric Motor 1,000 to 40,000 RPM

Repair information The electric attachments are going to need routine repair much like the air driven lowspeed attachments. The 1:5 increasing attachment will need the most service as it will be used for highpeed work which is the majority of the procedures, and it is a shaft driven mechanism going 200,000RPM. The most common wear parts are the bearings and gears. 6
