Headstone Lane Medical Centre is in five minutes walking distance from Headstone Lane British rail, five minutes drive from North Harrow under ground service. Bus routes: H19 via Pinner road, Headstone lane H12 and H14, Long Elmes approx 10 minutes walk Parking: 7 parking spaces in the premises, Headstone Lane itself is unmarked for parking restrictions Disable access: Available, also wheel chair available on request

How to Book Appointments

Patients will be seen by appointments only. Doctors appointment Within two working days (48 hrs) to see a GP

Advanced appointment with preferred doctors - Within 3 weeks depends on the availability of the preferred doctors and available slots. Nurse appointments Urgent appointments Next day (24hrs) If you cannot wait for the next available routine appointment, speak to the receptionist who will be able to offer you an appointment on the same day

Telephone Advice

Telephone consultations are available at our surgery in between 11am- 12:30pm during the surgery days. If you think that you do not require to see a GP but a telephone consultation is appropriate, you may request this services before 11am. When making this arrangement with the receptionist, please leave the contact telephone numbers correctly. The GP will contact you as soon as possible.

Out of hours arrangement (when the surgery is closed)

For an urgent medical advice where you cannot wait until the surgery is next open For life threatening emergencies call 999 i.e. chest pains, severe breathing difficulties, significant loss of blood If not life threatening call 0844 477 4005 and follow the instructions. You will be provided with a NHS helpline 0845 46 47 or Harmoni (out of hours Doctors service) contact telephone number - 0845 850 1172



WE DO NOT ACCEPT VERBAL REQUEST FOR PRESCRIPTIONS AS PRACTICE POLICY We do require written requests for all prescriptions. Please allow two working days for your request to be processes. Very soon we will be providing online prescription requests that patients can access via our surgery website.

Test results

Please allow five working days of blood/urine tests, ten days for x-ray results. You will be required to telephone the surgery to find out the outcome of your results, the receptionist will read the comments of the consulting Doctors regarding your tests. Please not that we will not routinely notify the results. It is your responsibility to follow the results.

Home visits

The surgery provides home visits to the patients who are housebound or immobile due to medical conditions. Request for home visits can be made by phone to the surgery before 10am. Your request will be passed to the GP on duty, who will assess the necessity for a home visit and confirm through the receptionist with an estimated time of visit.

How to join in the practice

Patients are able to register with the practice if they live within two miles radius. Registration forms can be obtained from the reception or can be downloaded from the surgery website. You are required to provide a copy of your passport/proof of address/and a medical card if you have one.

Change of address/phone number

It is your responsibility to inform us immediately of any change of address, name or telephone number or any other personal details. by either: Requesting a Change of Personal Details Form from reception or downloading the form from the surgery website.



Everyone working in the NHS has a legal obligation to maintain the highest level of confidentiality about patient information. The practice is registered under the Data Protection Act and the Freedom of Information Act. If at any time you would like to know more about how we use your information, you can speak to the Practice Manager.

Comments and complaints

If you have a complaint or concern about the service you have received from the doctors or any of the staff working at this Practice, please let us know. We operate a Practice Complaint Procedure as part of the NHS system for dealing with complaints. Our complaints system meets national criteria. Please contact the Practice Manager with any complaints or compliments. On receipt of your complaint you will receive an acknowledgement within two working days and the outcome of your complaint will be communicated to you in due course.

Access to medical records and data protection

Headstone lane medical centre is registered under the Data Protection Act 1988. You have a right to access your own health records. Everyone working for the NHS has a legal duty to keep information about you confidential. For further information, please visit our website or speak to the practice manager.

Zero Tolerance to Unacceptable Behaviour Headstone lane medical centre maintains a zero tolerance policy. Headstone Lane medical centre re-affirm their commitment to do everything possible to protect staff, patients and visitors from unacceptable behaviour and will not tolerate any incident that causes hurt, alarm, damage or distress.
