Richard Williams retired from private practise at the end of 2000 after30yearswithInce&Co,theinternationallyrenownedlawfirm specialisinginmaritimelaw. Hewasapartnerfor25yearsandwaschairmanofthefirm'sdryshipping business group specialising in carriage of goods, charter parties and P&Iissues.Hewasregularlyconsultedbothbyprivateclientsandalso byUNagenciesandotherinternationalbodiesinrelationtoindustrywideissues. Heistheauthorofnumerousarticlesonshippinglawandisco­author ofthestandardtext­book"LimitationofLiabilityforMaritimeClaims" publishedbyLloydsofLondonPress(4thedition2005).Heisnowa consultanttoInce&CoandaVisitingProfessorteachingmaritimelaw attheUniversityofWalesSwansea.

Professor Thomas is Professor of Maritime Law and Director of the InstituteofInternationalShippingandTradeLawattheUniversityof WalesSwansea,UK. HeisamemberoftheComitéMaritimeInternational,BritishMaritime Law Association (BMLA), Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the BritishInsuranceLawAssociation. He specialises in shipping and international trade law, and has wide international experience as a lecturer. His publications are extensive and his book titles include "Maritime Liens", "Law and Practice of AppealsfromArbitrationAwards"and"DefaultPowersofArbitrators". Heisalsoeditorofthe"ModernLawofMaritimeInsurance"Vols1and 2,Editor-in-ChiefoftheJournalofInternationalMaritimeLawandan editorofArbitrationInternational.HeischairmanoftheBMLAStanding CommitteeonMortgagesandShipArrest.

PeterGrubejoinedBIMCOin1990andisaManagerinBIMCOCourses &Events.HisfirstpositionwasintheServicesDepartmentassisting memberswithawiderangeofissues,includingretrievaloffundsand companyinformation.In2000,PetertookupthepositionasHeadof BIMCO'sSales,MarketingandPRactivities.Peterhasprojectmanaged a wide range of BIMCO Events, including the General Meetings in Beijing,Barcelona,CopenhagenandHongKong. In2005,PetertransferredtotheCourses&EventsDepartment.Heis involvedintheplanning,coordinationandgenerallogisticsforBIMCO's courses, seminars and conferences where he delivers the courses world-wide,oftenspeakingonissuesrelatedtoBIMCO'sactivities. Prior to joining BIMCO, Peter worked in ship owning as well as Sale & Purchase in Greece. He has graduated from the Danish School for International Marketing & Export and is a Chartered Shipbroker (FICS).

The BIMCO Masterclass Workshop seriesconsistsofsixmodularworkshops focusing on key aspects of maritime commerce.Theworkshopswillprovide participantswithathoroughgrounding intheprinciplesandpitfallsofeachcore subject.Theworkshopsaredesigned forparticipantswhoalreadyhavesome shippingexperienceandwhowishto broadentheirknowledgeofaparticular topicwithintheshippingindustry.As such,theworkshopsarewellsuitedto thedevelopmentofexistingandfuture decision makers who require a solid groundinginthemechanicsofmodern commercialpractice.
