A Quick Tour of Yahoo! Mail Classic

Yahoo! Mail Classic

Welcome to a quick tour of Yahoo! Mail Classic

Your personal mail home page is your starting point in Yahoo! Mail. On the home page you can see and change your avatar and your status message. At a glance you can see how many new messages are waiting in your Inbox and preview unread messages from people you know. You can also check the top news stories and the current weather anywhere in the world.

Other important mail features are located on the left side of the page. For example, the New button is where you click to begin composing an email message. Your email messages are organized into folders, which are also on the left side of the page. These include five system folders, as well as any folders that you create.

Below the folder list is the Chat & Mobile Text area, where you can start real-time chats with friends who are also online, or send text messages to your contacts' mobile devices.

To read your email messages, you need to open the folder that contains them. By default, new messages go into the Inbox folder, so let's start by clicking the Inbox to open it.

For each message in a mail folder, you can see who sent it, what its subject is, and other information.
