Hendricks Regional Health Foundation 2011 Scholarship Program Information


Keeping Indiana communities healthy is important at Hendricks Regional Health. In order to encourage students to consider careers in health care, a scholarship program was created in 1998. Hendricks Regional Health Foundation is pleased to offer two $2,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan to pursue health care careers. One scholarship is designated specifically for nursing.

Selection Process

Recipients are selected by a committee of Hendricks Regional Health Foundation board members. This committee provides administration and oversight of the scholarship program. Finalists are invited to participate in a brief interview, and winners are announced in May. Scholarship funds are paid to the recipient's college or university at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters in equal installments.


Scholarships are available to high school seniors who are Hendricks County residents and meet the following criteria: · · will graduate from an accredited high school by the end of June 2011. have been accepted to pursue a full-time academic course of study at an accredited public or private college or university in Indiana with a course of study leading to a health care career. have an overall grade point average of 3.25 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher. have participated in community service or other leadership activities. financial need may be considered.

Responsibilities of the Recipient

Scholarship recipients must send a copy of their grade report or college transcript to the Scholarship Committee at the conclusion of the fall semester and inform the committee of any change in their declared major course of study or school.

Scholarship finalists are interviewed by the Scholarship Committee.

Application Process

A fill-in application is available on our website at Go to the "About Us" tab and click on "Scholarship Program" to find and download the application. To request the application be sent to you via email, call (317) 745-7594 or send a request to [email protected] Information about the scholarships is available from Guidance Offices at Hendricks County high schools. Completed applications must be received in the Hendricks Regional Health Foundation office by March 11, 2011.
