Thank you for your year-long support of Grace Chapel's ministry efforts. Your generosity in the final weeks of the year, combined with the staff's work to keep expenses in line with actual giving, helped the church finish a year with a challenging economy close to our budgeted goal. As a congregation, you've also contributed almost $2,800,000 to our A New Day of GRACE campaign, and given over $100,000 in special offerings for flood relief in Pakistan, clean water in Darfur, and earthquake aid in Japan. Full year-end financial results will be available in the coming weeks, and next year's budget will be presented at our Annual Meeting on June 12th. Summer, Simplified. Vounteering in Kidstown made easy! Can you give us one or two Sundays this summer while we give our regular volunteers a break? Info: Since we are donating our pews to a church in Haiti, they need to be carefully removed and stored for shipment. At least 50 strong volunteers are needed on June 19th after the morning service to start removing pews, and an equal number on June 20th during the day to complete the job. If you can help, contact Craig Moody at [email protected] Host homes needed for international visitors. PEER Servants, a Grace Chapel missions partner, is hosting a microfinance conference this summer with over 60 representatives from 13 countries in the developing world. Part of the conference takes place at Grace Chapel. We're looking for host homes and help with transportation on July 22-24 (Fri-Sun) and July 30-Aug 4 (Sat-Thurs). For more information, contact volunteer coordinator Sandy Smith at [email protected]

Sanctuary Renovations Update: The major renovations are scheduled to begin the week of June 20th. While the sanctuary is unavailable during construction, we will use the gym, fellowship hall, and high school room as worship venues. At our Wilmington campus, we're adding an 8:00am service as well. During this time, the impact of construction work on our main building will necessitate some temporary walls, closing entrances/exits, and some re-routed traffic flow around the building. We hope to complete the renovations over the summer months, and return to regular worship in the sanctuary in September.

Annual Congregational Meeting - Updated Info

June 12, 2011 at 12:30pm in the Lexington Campus Sanctuary

Much is happening these days at Grace Chapel as we close out our fiscal year and this year's meeting will be especially important. Here is what you need to know about what is to come: Key Agenda Items for the Annual Meeting: 1. 2. 3. 4. · · Year in Review from the Senior Pastor and Elder Chair Financial Results and Budget for Fiscal Year 2012 Nomination of New Elders and Officers Elder Proposal to Make Two Modifications to Bylaws: Adjust the annual term of the Audit Committee members (November 1 through October 31) to better align their service with the actual audit work cycle. Our current rules of governance assume that all congregational decision making will happen in one place (Lexington) at one time. As we become a multi-campus church, that process will disenfranchise Grace Chapel members at other campuses. The Elders have worked diligently to bring forward a proposal that preserves our congregational governance by providing ways for members at all campuses to have equal opportunity to offer input and to vote.

Our Annual Report is now available, and includes financial results, budget and other important year-end information. The entire report is online at, and printed copies are available at the information desk. Complete specifics regarding the proposal to modify the bylaws is available online at and is also available in print form at the Information Desk.
