General Information

Pharmacy Technicians work in community and hospital pharmacies, assisting pharmacists in handling medications and serving patients. The course provides an overview of skills and knowledge required to function successfully as a pharmacy technician. The course may be used by individuals working in retail or hospital pharmacy to prepare for the PTCB exam or to improve their job skills. The course can also be used by CPhTs to fulfill continuing education requirements. The course will be taught entirely over the internet, and includes handouts, worksheets, homework assignments, approximately 40 contact hours and exams. This is NOT a correspondence course which you complete at your own pace. Instead, students are expected to complete weekly course assignments and progress through the course as a group. The weekly schedule and assignments help students keep up with the materials and successfully complete the course. The advantage of an internet course is that you can complete assignments and attend lectures at your convenience during the week. If you "miss" something or would like to hear it again, you just replay the presentation. Information and a sample lecture which describes the course can be found at our course website: http://www.iPharmTech.com
