Cutting:

Assembly Instructions: 1) Use the 9º wedge ruler to cut the listed number of medallion segments from each of the six fabrics listed in the cutting directions to make forty-one medallion segments. 2) Refer to the quilt photo for segment placement or position as desired to sew together the forty-one medallion segments to make the medallion. NOTE: There are not an even number of segments for a complete repeat. 3) Fold the 43" CX4522 square into quarters and mark the folds to mark the center lines. Repeat with the medallion. Center the medallion onto the 43" square using center lines as guides with the right side of both fabrics facing up. Pin in place. 4) Stitch around the raw edge of the medallion 1/8" in from the edge. Trim the excess fabric from behind the pieced medallion, close to the stitched line to eliminate bulk to make the quilt top. 5) Using the fan blade template, cut four fan blades from each fabric as listed in the cutting direction. Using the 1/4-circle template, cut four 1/4-circles from CX4528 Quartz. 6) Sew together six di erent fan blades into four sets. Press the seams open. Refer to the quilt photo to position and machine applique one fan and one 1/4 circle on each corner of the quilt top. 7) Following the manufacturer's instructions, press fusible web to the back side of both CM4507 Quartz and CM4507 Purple. Fussy cut twenty-one motifs from CM4507 Quartz and twenty motifs from CM4507 Purple. 8) Refer to the quilt photo for placement to press one motif on the end of each medallion segment covering the raw edge. Press in place. Position and press the remaining motifs to the medallion segments, alternating the colors. Machine applique around the raw edges. 9) Fold the 18" CX4528 Quartz square in half and then in quarters. Use the Arc template on the raw edges of the folded square to make one 18" circle. 10) Fold the 18" circle in quartes and fold it again into three equal segments (folds should alternate direction like an accordion.) Use the oral medallion edge template to cut the decorative edge on the circle. Unfold and press. 10) Center the oral medallion on top of the main medallion. Machine applique the oral medallion in place. OPTIONAL: Use metallic silver thread around the edges. 11) Following the manufacturer's instructions, trace twelve petal templates onto the paper side of the fusible web. Roughly cut out each shape outside the drawn lines and press the petal templates onto the back side of CX4350 pewter fabric. Cut out each petal on the drawn lines. 12) Arrange and press the petals to the oral medallion. Machine applique around the the raw edges. 13) For the ruffle, join the short ends of the 2-1/2" x 42" CX4350 Candy strip, right sides together and sew, to make a circle. Turn the edge under to long edge 1/8" to the wrong side, turn a second time. Topstitch the hem in place. With a needle and thread, gather the raw edge. Set aside. 14) Using the template, cut one 6-1/2" circle from CM4520 Natural. Turn under the edge of the circle a 1/4". Attach the ruffle to the outer edge of the circle, evenly spacing the gathers. Topstich the edges (A decorative stitch was used in the sample).

Always measure the quilt top before cutting border lengths. Yardage:
