March Madness ... Hoop Sisters Trunk Show, Goose Tracks, & Quilt Shows

Most people associate March Madness with basketball, but we have sewing madness happening! We are "sew excited" that we will be hosting the Hoop Sisters Trunk Show from March 3 21. Hoop Sisters quilts, runners, totes, and wall hangings are created with embroidery sewing machines, but you can enjoy the eye candy fabric creations whether you own a wonderful embroidery machine or not. Moore's Sewing will have exhibit booths at the Kentucky and Southern Indiana Quilters Day Outs, March 12 and 19, respectively, and will be showing part of the trunk show at both events. Our Trunk Show will include: Amish Flower Power, Beauty Found, Bowgello, Double Wedding Ring, Dresden Plate, Drunkards Path, Hooped Postcards, Leaf Moteaf, Sewing Room, Storm by Sea, Susan in the Patch, Twists & Turns. Visit the store and booths in March to be inspired by the embroidery madness! Goose Tracks, the Hoop Sisters 2011 Block of the Month, will start tracking in March. You can sign up for either a 4-month Fast Track program or 10-month Block of the Month program. Stop by and see the incredible digitizing, wide variety of block arrangements, and stunning 3-D optional border of the Goose Tracks sample that is growing in our classroom! This quilt is created one block at a time and you will get hands-on instruction on Saturday, March 5 and through video instruction as a part of the monthly program. Sign up as class space is limited. If the class overflows with madness, we will add another session. We are always mad about sewing! Please accept our apologies for talking about our March Madness a month early, but our plans are "sew exciting" we could not contain ourselves! Stop by to browse as our madness is contagious!

Artistic Sewing Suite Has Arrived

We have been anticipating the arrival of the Artistic Sewing Suite and are happy to announce it is here! This software will give you endless possibilities for appliqué, cutwork, embroidery, decorative stitching, quilting, and heat transfer. The Artistic Sewing Suite will allow any embroidery machine to transform to a custom cutter with its four angled needles. The combination of embroidery and cutting will enhance any project from the simplest to the most complex. Great for beginners to the experienced sewist, this software makes design creation easy with 3,500 built-in designs, so you can get started right out of the box. Easily convert True Type Fonts to stitch out or cut for appliqué. Use the cutting needles to turn your embroidery machine into an amazing new tool cut out intricate appliqué or quilting shapes, or use the cutting needles to save time on a variety of applications from crafting to scrapbooking. Over 350 built-in stitch patterns allow you to create unique effects on your appliqué and quilting projects. The unique Heat Transfer tool allows you to take any artwork and iron it onto fabric you can even add embroidery accents to the heat transfer image right in the program. We will be attending training in March and will be able to share more.

Sew Much Moore Than Just An Ordinary Horse Race Continues

Come by and check our Tote Board to see the Top 25 Customers who are leading the "Sew Much Moore" Horse Race. Every time you come in and make a purchase, you will receive a point, one point per day. You will want to visit often. Horse Race ends April 23. Stay tuned for the "win" (Janome sewing machine), "place," and "show" top three prizes as they will be worth racing for! The Top 20 finishers will receive prizes at a brunch to be held in early May. A donation will be given to the Susan G. Project Linus Collection Site

We are a collection site for Louisville Area Project Linus. Quilts and blankets should be at least 40" square and up to a full size quilt and can be donated any time of the year. However, we are trying to collect blankets by March 5, 2011 so blankets can be blessed in a Blanket Blessing prior to being donated. Project Linus' mission is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer "Blanketeers."
