Andrea is receiving this award for her four years of dedicated work with the 1st Maple Pathfinders. She leads meetings every other week. She promotes "fun, friendship and adventure" in the meetings. Andrea teaches the girls about community, global issues and about the importance of volunteering by organizing many volunteer opportunities for them to engage in. Matthew is receiving this award for his dedicated volunteer work for the Villa Leonardo Gambin- FLTC Charity for the past seven years. He has been the main driving force behind the Villa Leonardo Gambin FLTC charity. Matthew has given both of his time and funds to ensure that this community based charity would be able to build and operate a long term care residence in Vaughan. Today Vill Leonardo Gambin is home to 168 seniors and adults with special needs. Ausma is receiving this award for her dedicated work as a volunteer for Kristus Darzo Latvian Home. Although a senior herself, she helps the residents of our Home by serving on the Board of Directors, assists residents to their appointments, bakes traditional foods for special events, runs atuck shop at the home and a baking hour with residents. She is also, chair of fundraising. Nives is receiving this award for her dedicated volunteer work with St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic School Council. She has been repsonsible for organizing and leading a number of initiatives that have resulted in the Council being able to support the school with a number of needs including the purchase of 14 computers over the past 2 years, risers for the choir, and jerseys for the sports team. Sharon is receiving this award for her 10 years of dedicated volunteer work with the Family Services of York Region. She has fundraised by way of a Christmas Tea in her home, organized a team of volunteers to provide Christmas gifts and dinner to over 200 families in York Region. Her devotion to this cause over the past decade clearly demonstrates her loyalty, dedication and compassion for those less fortunate.
