The National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards invites you to Delray Beach, Florida. Known as the Village by the Sea, Delray Beach is located along the Atlantic Ocean and is one of Florida's most popular destinations.

Things to Do

Shop and Dine on Atlantic Avenue ­ Walk west across the Intracoastal Bridge to experience an array of contemporary clothing boutiques, over 80 restaurants featuring a worldwide selection of cuisines, and just about any self-care service or exercise option you desire. Delray Yacht Cruise ­ Located less then a mile from the hotel, board the Lady Atlantic for a two hour sightseeing tour of the Intercoastal Waterway. Visit Morikami Orchid Gardens ­ Located approximately eight miles from the hotel, you can experience unbelievably beautiful orchids and experience Japanese arts and culture in South Florida Relax on the Beach ­ Located directly across the street from the hotel, enjoy one of South Florida's most beautiful beaches. Take a Day Trip to Palm Beach or Miami ­ Palm Beach is located approximately 25 minutes from the hotel while Miami is located approximately 45 minutes from the hotel.

Hotel

The Mid-Year Meeting will be held at the Delray Beach Marriott. This intimate, Mediterranean-style hotel is located on the ocean within walking distance to shops, restaurants and entertainment. The hotel offers a full service spa, fitness center, pool and also features onsite dining at Seacrest Grill, O'Grady's Lounge and Cascades Poolside Grill.

Reservations

A limited number of guestrooms have been reserved at a discounted rate of $169.00 single/ double (additional state and local taxes on room rates will apply, currently at 11.5%) for NAB attendees. To make reservations, call the Delray Beach Marriott at 561-274-3200 by Monday, October 17, 2011. In order to receive this special rate, you must mention that you will be attending the NAB Mid-Year Meeting. After October 17th, or once the block has been filled (which ever comes first), reservations will be accepted on a space and rate available basis. All individual reservations must be guaranteed and accompanied by a first night room deposit or guaranteed with a credit card at time of booking. Payment will be taken upon checkin. Individual cancellations will be accepted up to 24 hours before check-in without penalty. Check-in time is 4:00 PM and check-out time is 11:00 AM.

Transportation

There are three local airports with a close proximity to the Delray Beach Marriott. The closest airport to the hotel is Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) which is located approximately 20 miles from the hotel. Taxis are available outside the airport with

CAnCellAtIOn POlICy All cancellations must be received in writing by NAB via mail, email or fax. A refund, less an administrative fee of $25.00, will be issued if received by October 24, 2011. Due to financial obligations incurred by NAB, no refunds will be issued on cancellations received after October 24, 2011. Substitutions from the same company will be permitted at any time prior to the meeting start date without penalty.

Chair: Donald Wilson, New Mexico The Bylaws Committee reviews the Association's Bylaws and policies and procedures to ensure that they are designed to assist in operations and the attainment of NAB goals.

State Governance and Regulatory Issues Meeting

Chair: Lisa Hahn, Virginia Vice Chair: Pam Dukes, South Carolina Topics for discussion include addressing federal and state regulatory issues and their impact on licensure Boards/ Agencies and administrators, exploring new educational opportunities focused on ethics and standards of practice, member needs assessment, development of a mentoring program for non-participating and/or new board chairs/ state executives and development of a toolkit of standardized models to encourage standardized practices.

Continuing education Meeting

Chair: Mary Ellen Wilkinson, Nevada Vice Chair: Heather Anderson, Michigan Topics for discussion include how to assist Boards/Agencies to uphold the integrity of Continuing Education Programs and suggesting recommendations to Boards/Agencies regarding minimal standards for continuing education of licensed administrators via the National Continuing Education Review Service (NCERS).

State executive Forum

Co-Facilitators: Anthony Chapple, Texas Sally McKee, Missouri The State Executive Forum assists state board executives and board secretaries in resolving problems and issues relating to the practice of long term care administration, discusses matters relating to licensure/reciprocity and shares best practices.

education Meeting

Chair: Patrick Nicovich, Alabama Vice Chair: Jennifer Johs-Artisensi, Wisconsin Topics for discussion include assisting Boards/Agencies to uphold the integrity of academic programs in Long Term Care Administration and evaluating educational materials including study materials for preparing candidates for the national exam.

State Board Member Forum

Co-Facilitators: Tim Chesney, Ohio Jonathan Thomas, North Carolina The State Board Member Forum assists state licensing boards in resolving problems and issues relating to the practice of long term care administration, discusses matters relating to licensure/reciprocity and shares best practices.

Marketing and Public Relations Meeting

Chair: Margaret McConnell, Nevada Vice Chair: Tim Chesney, Ohio Topics for discussion include refining the RC/AL toolkit based on member needs, establish communication/contact with each state providing RC/AL toolkit resources listing with "intent" statement, increasing participation and interaction with targeted national/state associations and increasing member outreach efforts.

Academic Forum

Facilitator: Patrick Nicovich, Alabama The Academic Forum is for members of the academic community with programs in long term care administration. The forum is designed to facilitate a conversation between educators and NAB on the latest trends in education for long term care administrators and as a forum for educators to provide feedback on NAB's Academic Accreditation Program.

nursing Home Administrator examination Committee

Co-Chairs: Jim Bennett, Washington Katrina Magdon, Alabama The NHA Examination Committee is responsible for the development and continuous review of the NAB Nursing Home Administrators Examination.

nCeRS Forum

Facilitator: Mary Ellen Wilkinson, Nevada The NCERS Forum is for sponsors of NAB approved continuing education programs. The forum is designed to facilitate a conversation between NAB and approved sponsors on the latest trends in continuing education for long term care administrators and as a forum for sponsors to provide feedback on NCERS policy and procedure.

Residential Care/Assisted living Administrator examination Committee

Co-Chairs: Michael Hickey, Washington Del Zook, Oregon The RC/AL Examination Committee is responsible for the development and continuous review of the NAB RC/AL Examination.
